Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

My question to that post is, “does this apply only to the waitlist option?” It seems to me that if you selected waitlist, you are prepared to wait. If you selected TEAM only then you know what you will most likely get and really should not have to wait as long as a waitlisted person….

I literally just got accepted for PSA after applying in August. I mean I’m glad that I got a response finally but I have seriously felt so out of the loop. I just have no clue which alternative campus to choose from.

@Alexis24 what are your intended major(s!?
Do you have other college acceptances?
PSA isn’t ideal for some majors.

I have full admit to Baylor (gen engineering) but that’s too expensive. Tech is to far me because it’s on the other side of the state but it’s for chem engineering. I got capped at IT but I knew that was going to happen and I applied to TAMU with chemistry

I have settled on chemistry though as what I want to do

@Christi1993

Perhaps admissions is now using student enrollments as of March 1 as a good or alternate predicter of total enrollments come may 1. They have so much data to work with and are probably constantly tweaking their prediction methods

That’s definitely listed in the PSA program, which locations are they offering?

All of them I think? I just got the notification today and it asked me to select a major and then check off which schools I wanted to check with.

I selected everything but Texarkana because that’s super far

Is today the day you were truly offered psa? When did you notice your change of major button disappearing?

My communication page says that it was given to me on 2/22/24 at 4:02 am. Is that like super important to the question I asked or like did I do something wrong?

Agree with you that if you selected TEAM only, that they should just release those based on the available slots. You would have thought that the AOs would have kept these numbers in mind when sending out the 3 options. Due to the long wait between selecting TEAM only and now, it makes me wonder if those that selected TEAM only may be at risk of not getting that if they’re concerned about admitting more than the campus can handle…

It’s sometimes useful for others to know when TAMU released offers since they tend to come in batches.

I apologize I had to switch my phone since I’m entering a class. I can’t use my school account

@AJGate you got PSA yesterday?

Yes. I have a picture of the letter they sent if that would help!

Tarleton is a nice school. My two cousins graduated from there with engineering and they work at Lockheed. Another friend graduated from there with mechanical and works at a nuclear plant.

Stephenville is a great smallish and safe town with sweet people and good churches. I went to Tarleton and lived in S’ville for 15 years afterward.

No, totally believe you! I think switching accounts confused us.

Personally, I’d take the Tech or Baylor route.
PSA will depend on exactly what you want out of your freshman year. Do you want Greek life, sports? Then I’d select Corpus, West Texas or Tarleton. Not much happening in Commerce, but maybe that’s okay? I’d look at each campus (offered) -their main pages, to see what campus looks like, size of school, housing options, clubs/social etc.

I wouldn’t base college off location/distance. You shouldn’t be coming home often anyway, to get the full college experience.

You’ve got options! Hang in there…

If you were my kid, I’d tell you to take another look at Tech. Yes it’s far, but frankly, it’s “far” for most of the student body so very few people are going home on the weekends, etc. It’s affordable, has a strong alumni network, all of the Texas college experiences and a great engineering program.

100% agree. We are waiting on Blinn Team options, so my son can make his official determination, but his heart is already at Tech. He wanted Tech over TAMU anyway (much to this former students chagrin). But honestly, don’t count it out until you visit!
