Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

LOVED HARRYS! Some of my BFFs bartended there! So fun!

Lots of high stat kids get CAP at UT every year so that I didn’t find surprising. but the number of high stat kids who were “optioned” or PSA’d from TAMU this year seems really high. My son has a friend with a 32 and a 3.9/4 (high 1st qtr) and he didn’t get business and was offered options. He applied early too. That wouldn’t have happened in years prior.

We are one of the few families waiting on TEAM where he won’t go. He will probably pick Tech in the end bc his cousin and a bestie are going there. He really should got to Marquette for his acceptance to the 3-3 DPT program, but I think Tech with cousin is overshadowing that as well. I will cry maroon tears.

My son, class of '22 also had a 32 ACT and a 3.8/4 GPA from a private school that does not rank with about 90 in his class. 6 in his class were NMF. He received the options email, choose waitlist both and ultimately received full admission on March 3rd when all Team only were admitted on 2/11 or 2/14 (can’t remember exact date). He was also a business applicant and chose Ag Business instead as Mays was of course full. Because of his high stats, he was invited to apply to Honors in the Ag school and was admitted to the honors program. He has done really well and is now trying to decide between transferring to Mays for accounting or staying where he is. Just trying to say that high stat kids have been receiving the options email for a while now, not really new this year. Should also point out that he was initially on the temp list for housing but was on the very top of that list. He was very shortly after moved to “regular” housing and ended up in the Commons. It all worked out great.

Thats a great success story! Thanks for that. Congrats to your kiddo!

So for my own sanity… when do we feel like we will hear back? I initially thought this Friday, are we now hoping for next week? I know no one has a crystal ball, just hoping!

My guess is they won’t release decisions until after 3/1. I hope I’m wrong but I can survive if we hear next week.

They could release them on 2/29 - and next year it’ll throw everyone off since there’s no 2/29.

They could release them on the morning of 3/1 - since that’s “3/1.”

They could release them on the morning of 3/2 - Saturday drop like the options notice and it was done “after 3/1” to satisfy the “had until 3/1 to decide” audience.

They could release them next week and be in line with the phone calls that happened yesterday.

Or they could release them in September and we move our kids overnight.

Just speculating.

HA!!! Perfect answer :joy: My son kind of pinned all his hopes on this Friday, so I’ll tell him to give it another week.

Girl I’m guessing like you are…

I loved your explanation! I was thinking of doing a prediction poll for the dates but don’t know how to set up a poll on this forum.

Hopefully today is the last day we see 3 tabs!

My apologies to Green Day…

Winter’s about to pass.
Howdy won’t update I guess?
Wake me up when February ends.

The daily clicks. The reach, the grabs.
Still I don’t see seven tabs.
Wake me up when February ends.

Here comes the wait again,
Falling from the stars.
Reading this board again,
Becoming who we are…

As my patience tests,
I never forget to check AIS.
Wake me up when February ends.

Sure hope so, but for some reason it feels like they are going to make us all wait until next week… :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

At this point, I can honestly picture us all still here in September, posting deals on 4-season tents…

Put me down for March 5th, but it could be May 5th as well. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I’m betting the drawn out process for TEAM contributes to low acceptance yield. Crazy to see/hear about students who applied on the first day possible…waiting 5-6 months to get “options”…and are still in limbo a month later. Students want to be wanted and there are a lot of other universities who do a similar process in a much better, more transparent way. Net, I’m betting A&M’s process contributes to low yield on holistic students.

I wish A&M would offer a binding acceptance solution like some private schools do. Net, if you apply early and get accepted…students commit to an early decision that is binding. This would help their yield and get good students into A&M who want to be Aggies.
