Wow, so there isn’t even a Waitlist anymore?!?!?
I guess not! So it’s pretty set we are off campus. So I logged in to the dining services to see what off campus kiddo dining services looked like - here are the prices for Spring…
I spoke with Housing yesterday and they have 900 students on the waitlist at this point.
I lived off campus my freshman year and just got the dining dollars vs the meals at the cafeteria. I always ate breakfast and dinner at my apartment and grabbed lunch from places like the Chick-Fil-A on northside or brought something with me. I did not eat in a cafeteria one time while at A&M lol. I could be the odd one here, but that was my experience if it helps!
Since off campus, Choose a small dining pkg. you can always add to it. Dining dollars are better for all things except dining hall. So I’d start with either dining dollars only or the smallest meal plan and dining dollars. I know dollars roll over to next semester but not sure meals do.
I just feel like even with 900 there could be a shot. Everyone I know that got TEAB booked off campus already along with on campus deposit. Everyone (ok, most) who gets accepted to TAMU knows to put down the $75 deposit and know it’s potential throwaway. I did that with my daughter (auto) 2 years ago knowing she would either go to UT or Trinity. SOOOO many auto kids and late admits this year! I would be willing to ride it out on the wait list!
ZERO chance at a room, even if you could get on Wait List now. Don’t forget there are no telling how many Tenp List kids, which are ahead of Wait List.
I’d buy Dining Dollars only, not even small meal plan. Dining Dollars roll over to spring semester, Meal Swipes don’t.
*Meal Plans & Dining Dollars don’t have to be added to account until August, and they usually offer some type of ‘incentive/bonus’ just before school starts-like $40 extra DD with a Meal Plan.
They go over all this during NSC, so NO RUSH to decide.
Can we still be pulled up by a roommate already on the list? Or is that off the table now too
Off the table once it’s waitlist status
@Abie456 that is off the table. No chance at living on campus at this point.
I think they may need to add some more on campus housing.
@MMel there have never been enough beds for all students who want to live on campus. There are Temp & Wait Lists EVERY year.
darn😥
Not sure if I’m looking for trouble and don’t want to put value where there isn’t any, BUT has anyone gone through the 7 tabs to see if there’s a hint reflected somewhere? We went through the tabs and under the Student Life tab there are 2 boxes labeled “Optional Services”. There’s one for College Station and another for Galveston. AIS and Manage Application both reflect College Station, so not sure where a reference to Galveston comes from. Does anyone else see something similar?
Anybody have any experience or opinions of 12 North? Looks nice and near campus, plus close to Hullabaloo.
No Whoop!
@MajorPayne I just went through the initial steps to submit the “First Time Military Education Benefit Request” in Howdy for a couple of programs (Ch. 35, Hazlewood). Let me know if you hit any roadblocks.
When we got TAMUG admission, we could see Spring 2023 for Galveston, CS, Qatar, and something else. We had Fall 2024 for Galveston…and Fall 2024 for CS added when our majors changed on Tuesday.
It changed names a couples years ago-appears name change and new management helped!
Be sure to tour in person, not just rely on website. Great location, but units are very small and dark-very little natural light.
And always check Google reviews.
