Thank you!
Fish Camp 2024 registration will open on April 16, 2024 !
I would register that day.
On my calendar! Thanks for the date!
What is The L.E.A.D. Summit (Leadership. Engagement. Action. Discovery. at TAMU ?
My daughter went to that two years ago. It is an invite only leadership event for admitted students. Most expenses paid. They covered hotel. People had to pay their own transportation. They had meals, performances, speakers, They did a drawing for scholarships at the event for those in attendance and my daughter received a $2500 scholarship! She also got a lot of swag.
Good to know on the Hilton. It was still being renovated last time I stayed there (I think this past fall?). Drove by it Friday & the outside throws me off.
Good to know about the boutique hotel. I had read several reviews that weren’t favorable but that may have been further back.
What time does it open up?
Do kids do both Fish camp and Impact? Or do they choose one to do?
You could do both, but that’s overkill…and exhausting! One, or the other.
Have students follow their social media accounts and websites for details.
There’s also one offered thru St. Mary’s Catholic Church, which is very popular for Catholic students-
Thank you!!
We went this year! My son and I really enjoyed it. No scholarship at ours though… but we thought it was well worth our time. Our group was National Recognition Program scholars, I think.
@braintop my $.02, never turn down anything invited to. Something like the L.E.A.D. isn’t open to just all students. Even the smallest opportunity can ‘open doors’ at A&M.
Omg the outside still looks like scaffolding. I hate it but no one asked me for my decorative expertise lol. But yes, inside is nice.
Whichever interests them. Sure they could do both if they want and have time. My understanding is that impact camp is not an A&M sponsored event but it is an event put on by the Christian churches in the community and they invite incoming freshman. My Aggie did fish camp and enjoyed it.
My son went to both! Not back to back but had a few days in between of if I remember correctly. He was glad he attended both, met lots of kids. It was tiring but he thought it was worth it.
Has anyone submitted an appeal and heard back? I submitted an appeal in late January and still no update.
Not sure the “science” behind the selections. My son is a CoSci major, low 1300’s SAT, top quarter. Picked both options and got TEAM.
@co2028applicant you never have answered-
what are your grounds for appeal? What are your stats, what were you admitted to?
@FriscoDad & @Christi1993 can’t help until they know details.
God I remember when the CS Hilton was THE place in town. Even had our wedding reception there.
They are Definitley trying to get back to that. Now competing with the George, Stella and Tamu hotel.
I’m sure the reception was quite lovely!
