Another option to look into at A&M is the LLCs or the University Honors program. The latter doesn’t get a lot of love around here but participation comes with a room on Northside I believe… Also, joining the Corps gets you a room too…

If you’ve committed to Tech…I’d withdraw A&M application to open room for others. :pray:t3:

Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that…

Has anyone received an Engineering Honors decision yet? Also, does Engineering Honors participation provide any advantages in terms of securing a student’s preferred Engineering discipline?

@Blue111 Engineering Honors definitely does NOT get perks, as far as getting selected discipline. That’s all based on ETAM.
HNR does allow early registration-which is HUGE at A&M- and perhaps smaller class size/better professors.

I was just over on the admitted thread. Two posts mentioned that engineering is full??? OOS daughter applied back by the deadline of 10/15. Got pushed to Jan/Feb for decision. Both of her major choices are engineering (civil, mechanical). Is it possible engineering is full? Is there a path where she changed her second choice to physics, gets accepted for that an then can request to be admitted to engineering after freshamn year? We thought with her stats and coursework this would be a good fit for her.

I can’'t speak to what was posted over there (and my daughter did not apply to Engineering), but after reading a lot of the threads from last year it sounds like kids were admitted to Engineering into January and to TEAB until March. Good luck!

I saw those posts too, but that is not what our college counselor is saying. Apparently they got bombarded with last-minute applications.
My son is still waiting on Engineering as well. That child from that post didn’t have calculus. Good luck to your kiddo!!! :pray:t2:

Engineering is not full. Most of engineering major admissions are in Jan through Feb.

In January, TAMU will send out mass email to applicants about pathways such as TEAB, McAllen, Galveston, be sure to research those pathways as those are considered admitted.

I haven’t seen many College of Architecture - CoSci. We haven’t heard back yet - her are my child’s stats. Any thoughts?

Applied - Aug 3
1310 SAT
4.7 WGPA
3.7 GPA
4 AP classes, 4 DC
Athlete 4 years, very involved in church, missions, etc , out of school travel sports

My daughter was accepted to CoSci on almost identical stats last year. (She applied on 8/1 and found out on 12/15 in 2022.) So no guarantees, of course, but I’d bet your kid gets in.

@texag97 did A&M assign your student 1st or 2nd quarter?

Forgot to mention that - yes top quarter of extremely competitive large high school.

Thank you! We have most definitely researched those options!!! Just need to see what our son is offered!

@Abigail_Anderson be sure y’all are familiar with the ETAM process-all incoming freshman start out as General Engineering.

I think you have a good chance at either full admit or team! 28 is strong. Course rigor is stronger along with rank.

Best of luck and let us know how it ends up.
