My auto admit engineering kid received the email two days ago that he should have an admissions decision ready in AIS, but nothing has changed in Howdy or AIS. It seems like these decisions are releasing randomly right now.
My son (also auto admit) just got his Engineering college acceptance email about an hour ago…so they’re definitely still working through the “stack”. Hopefully y’all hear soon too!
Congrats Engineers!!! Keep the decisions coming.
Hey, I am really stressing out about if I even have a chance especially looking through all of these profiles I have a 1350 SAT with a 690 in math, taking the full IB Diploma, top 10% in my class, 4 year Varsity Marching band and 2 years as the percussion captain, BUT my highest math course is Math SL Ai which is really bad. I run a Physics and HL Math club but I only had started it when I was writing my essays so I talked about in my applciation but it was not big yet at the time. Can I get some opinions? (Applied September 15th)
Did anyone’s kid who has already been admitted get an email today that said to review their admission decision and log in to view it? My kid did but she’s already admitted so just wondering what that’s about and if it went out to everyone.
My son got that same email on Monday saying to check AIS for the admissions decision. Nothing has changed in AIS. He’s waiting on engineering, but I’m beginning to wonder if it went out to everyone admitted to the university, and for some reason it was sent weeks after they were admitted via Howdy/AIS/the envelope in the mail.
ok that makes sense, because my daughter already received her banner and everything! I don’t recall any emails like this going out with my c/o 2029 but I think it is a good thing for them to email since not everyone may be checking AIS.
FYI Admitted today OOS holistic Chemistry (not engineering) for Fall 2027. They are beginning to come out! Gig em!
I think you just solved the mystery on Monday’s email!
Sorry to say me too because I was hoping the email meant good news was imminent! That said, if it’s just a (belated) part of the university admission process, then I can go back to the normal waiting game as opposed to the one where I legitimately expect the news to come any moment.
Hello y’all, I’m a homeschooled senior with a few questions on the application process. I’d appreciate it if some of the students or parents in a similar situation could share their experiences. I emailed admissions@tamu.edu, but I have not heard back, and it seems A&M doesn’t have a specific email for homeschool students as UT does.
I have a 1440 SAT, which is above the 1290 threshold for being considered in the top 10% of homeschooled students. But in the STARS section, it says that students with a top 10% ranking must submit their high school transcript and their rank. How would this apply to homeschool students who don’t have a rank? Would we put our SAT score there?
My other question is that UT Austin and UTD require that we have to include our SAT score and “List all courses undertaken at each grade level, along with a brief description of the course content and information about the format of the course (in a classroom, online, etc.)” on our homeschool transcript. Is this the same for Texas A&M?
Don’t worry about the STARS Top 10, that’s for public school.
Those questions about courses are inside the Common App, for all homeschoolers if courses were taken distance learning.
Homeschool transcript is just the normal transcript your parent creates.
Send your SAT score directly from College Board to A&M ASAP.
If you haven’t applied yet, you need to ASAP to get the major you want before it gets full.
UT Austin has additional requirements for homeschooled students such as the course description document. That is not the case for Texas A&M. Just send your score and fill up your application. Your parent (homeschool administrator) can load the transcript in the Reccomender’s Common App. Feel free to ask any follow up questions. There are plenty homeschoolers on this thread.
Can you please provide stats? Rank, scores, etc.
Yes. Seems like a glitch.
Congratulations!!! That’s wonderful!!! Hoping to hear soon for our holistic Biology!!!
Thank you, sir. I have the normal transcript and all my essays and ECS ready to go. I will submit tmrw. Also, I did start on ApplyTexas and filled the stuff in there, so i’ll switch to Common App to get the homeschool questions. TYSM sir
Ty too, sir!
I have twins applying for fall 2027.
My top 10% kid “Twin B”, who applied for Mechanical Engineering, got the email to check for a decision in AIS 10/5. Their single highest SAT score was a 1500 with the 790 math so we’re we’re fairly confident admission wasn’t going to be a problem.
“Twin A” is not top 10. Applied to construction science. STAR was done in July and TAMU application submitted 8/1. Also supplemental information submitted within days of their application. Has to go through holistic review. They have a 4.1 weighted GPA and highest single SAT was a 1290. Their high school doesn’t rank, but TAMU calculated their rank as top 25%. However, they have done two, full-time, 8 week long internships with a construction company as an over the last two summers. The waiting is excruciating more for us parents than for them I think.
So hard on the parents! Praying Twin A gets great news. Cons sci is very popular major and not considered “big” in size so seats are limited. The internship will help but majority of weight is rank and score. BUT showing passion and true interest is what tamu likes to see! Please keep us posted and remember to breathe!!!
