This article lost any argument when it called the school “too homo.” What is this? 3rd grade?

The page author was describing a Texas state representative as seeing the school as such.

You can be forgiven for not being familiar with Texas Monthly, which is an institution around here but not necessarily well-known elsewhere. It’s not the NYT or even the Atlantic - more like a Texas-y version of Slate or the old Deadspin (RIP), except printed on paper. Sometimes tongue-in-cheek, often with a little snark thrown in, but nonetheless talking about serious things (usually from a slightly left-of-center perspective). Here, the writer is snarkily ascribing this childish thought to the state official, not making a straightforward descriptive statement. Same with “Draggieland” - the common term is Aggieland, here modified to lampoon the “right-wing media outfit” and its moral panic over drag shows.

Sometimes “all publicity is good publicity” really does NOT hold true
