<p>One of my Texas friends told me that Texas has affirmative action for its residents, meaning it’s easier for Texas residents to get in Texas state medical schools. Is this true? So bad, I’m not from Texas… Does any other states do the same thing for their residents?</p>
<p>Yes. State schools will give preference for in-state residents. You will find that the acceptance rate for in-state residents are sometimes higher even for private schools.</p>
