The text message program isn’t designed to encourage low income students to show up to the colleges where they were accepted. It’s designed to get information to low income/high stats students about how and where to apply, and it gives them reminders for important due dates. They still need help from parents and counselors to make it happen. I don’t believe it addresses the lack of support for low income students with average stats though. We need to do a better job educating families about affordable options.
