Textbooks from ebay

Do textbooks sell fast on half.ebay?

hahaha…well i have no clue

it depends
i sold 4 textbooks in two days on half.com
it depends on how popular the textbook is/how new the edition is

…and what time of year (beginning of semester, etc, when students buy books most)

Me, personally, I buy books in the middle of summer because they are dirt cheap! (for fall)

Sometime this week I will be listing a bunch of texts on eBay. I will have the following:

-Janda “Challenge of Democracy” (with a study guide!)
-Verdeber “Challenge of Effective Speaking”
-An English text I never used that I forget the name of
-Some supplemental materials for Martin-Gay College Algebra and Weiten Psychology (practice tests, workbooks, etc)

The government book is actually brand new. I only used the study guide. The English text is new too but it’s paperback and the cover might have a few blemishes on it. Still, it’s never been used. The speech book only had light use, being opened maybe six times.

Check sometime in the middle of the week if you’re interested. My user ID on there is MacPlus512.

I’m taking a socio class first semester. The teacher has already stated which textbook will be used. Besides working this summer, I’m doing nothing too productive. I’m interested in reading the textbook ahead of time. Is that unusual? I found the book online, and a seller. The book is only $.053. Does that mean it’s a scam? Here’s the link to the book. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0205350992/ref=lp_g_2/104-5215978-1522311?condition=all</a>. Would that be worth buying?

No scam. Just understand that the 53 cents book is “acceptable” condition with wear or tear. But I also see “Good” and “Very Good” condition in the dollar range. Also make sure you’ve got the right edition that the professor will be assigning, or an older edition will still work depending on the nature of the course.

I just bought 5 of my 8 books off Amazon Marketplace. 4 are completely correct, this I know, but I may have made a freshman mistake on my British Lit books. I didn’t realize there was a 3rd edition, so I got the 2nd edition. I emailed my bookstore at UMD but they haven’t responded. I am hoping I got it correct. The service and prices have been amazing. 4 of the 5 have actually been NEW books, and in total, if I got the Lit book right, I will have saved $50 so far. Not too shabby. I don’t have very expensive books this semester though (a lot of novels).

The other 3 I have to buy are a custom compilation of math books from the dept, a custom book written by my crim professor, and then a crim book I can get off amazon I just haven’t yet.

Yeah, buying textbooks online is great. I always save half off on my math and science textbooks. I usually go to my college’s online bookstore and it shows exactly which editions my professors are teaching from. You might want to do the same. It should be much faster than emailing them every quarter/semester.

I just ordered the textbook and paid $30 for what was considered “like new.” If I’m happy with this book and decide to keep it, can I tell the people at the college bookstore I no longer want that book?
