I apologize if this has already been asked, though I must say I scoured the pages and couldn’t find any mention of it:

When’s the latest date as to when we can have our textbooks? I’ve heard professors will give us until the second meeting, the second week…?

I just ask because I’m in the process of ordering books online to save money, and since standard shipping is 4-14 business days, I’m not sure if I should spend extra money to expedite shipping.

Any feedback is appreciated! (:

You should be fine. You don’t need them for the very first class, but there will very likely be reading assigned for the second week of classes, and sometimes even the second class of the first week. It really depends on your professor. I’ve had ones that spend the entire two classes of the first week of the semester just going over the syllabus and course goals, and then there have been others who spend 15 minutes going over the syllabus and then immediately jump into the material. Assuming you ordered them on the 12th you’ll be fine, and I doubt the shipping would take the 14 days. The company is probably just estimating on the longer side to be safe. I hope that helped.
