<p>In case anyone is wondering, I just called up the Duke textbook store and they said they’ll be posting them on Monday.</p>

<p>It seems like they don’t give enough information about the book to buy it online when I looked at some of the summer books. All they gave was the name of the course, an author, and an ISBN #. Is that all the info you need to buy it online? I thought you needed…uh the publisher and all that jazz.</p>

<p>If you type the ISBN into google, you’ll be able to find all of the information you need for that book. In the past they were kind of jerks about not giving the ISBN on their website, but it looks like they’re doing that now. That helps a lot when getting the books cheaply.</p>

<p>My friend doesn’t have college confidential, and she raised an interesting question. What if financial aid covers your textbooks, how do you go about purchasing books?</p>

<p>What will eventually happen is that the financial aid you received will, according to your bursar bill, become so high that you will owe a negative amount. This means that the FinAid office will send you a check for that amount. This also means that you have to buy your books yourself, and then wait for the FinAid office to “reimburse” you.</p>

<p>All you need to buy books online is the ISBN number-- that covers the books publisher, edition, whatever since it’s a unique number code or whatever. I’m excited to see the hundreds of dollars and stacks upon stacks of books I’m going to need on Monday (the thing is, I’m actually being serious – other than the money part – since I love my classes)</p>

<p>Anyone notice that the Chem 21L textbook by Chang isn’t available online? Textbook store said that the book was made just for Duke. Hmm.</p>

<p>Supposedly the Chang book has some sort of Aris software and package with it: anyone know anything about that?</p>

<p>crap, I should have asked my friends last semester if I could borrow books for orgo and cell bio… those ones are killing me.</p>

<p>yeah…how about chem 21 sucks…almost $400 for books! And I can’t get them anywhere online because of those stupid bundles…</p>

<p>Well, the good news I can give you is that I’m pretty sure that the “loose leaf” book that is mentioned is not needed, as in you either get that one or the actual textbook. I remember thinking that the class would be crazy with so many books last year, and then I got to school and got my books and it turned out that the list online was a bundle and then the parts of the bundle seperately.</p>

<p>So wait, can we wait until we get there to buy the books. Or is it recommended that we order them from the bookstore online??</p>

<p>When I ordered them online they didn’t have them ready when I got there…and I ordered them as soon as they were posted online.</p>

<p>I would just get them when you get there…it’s easy.</p>

<p>Do we need the CD that comes with the Chem or Math 103 books, cause the online books don’t say whether they come with it or not?</p>

<p>Awesome, I only need a $20 book for German. :smiley: (I suspect my American Lit novels, not listed, will have to be bought at the Regulator, though. :eek:) </p>

<p>Frisbee- I don’t think you’ll need the CDs (I never did), but they can be helpful for reference.</p>

<p>I’ve never used any of the CD’s for either Math 103 or Chem.</p>

<p>Also, it’s perfectly fine to use the instructors edition. I did for Math 103. The only disadvantage is there aren’t answers (well, that’s sort of a disadvantage…)</p>

<p>Thanks for your answer guys. Does anyone know if international edition and US edition is the same? (for EGR 53L books)</p>
