I have not been on this site recently, so was sad to see that CC has closed Mike’s thread. I wanted to personally thank Mike for all of his thoughful and honest replies to various questions. Also to wish him a happy graduation and best of luck in what I predict will be a very successful future!

Didn’t realize the thread has been closed. Oh no! Loved his insight and he always answered everyone’s questions fairly and thoroughly. I’d like to second mumof2boyz2 graduation wishes. She’s right, you have a great future ahead of you.

I would also like to add my thanks to LehighChemE for his caring and thoughtful insights. I have learned a great deal through your posts. What was once an unknown school for us has become a place that my S’15 will definitely explore for the next college application season. Thank you, Mike, for all that you have done to present a realistic and positive view of Lehigh U. and the opportunities there. Happy Graduation and all the best to you in your future.

Would also like to thank him for his patience and care with which he helped all visitors to the thread. An 86 or so page Q&A takes commitment and a genuine interest in his followers, so I thank him for that and for sacrificing his time for the good of future students. Hard to phrase it much better than the posters above me, but we are all grateful for your efforts. Thanks, and happy graduation! @LehighChemE

I ditto the above comments. Thanks to mike and the parents who also answer questions I felt at ease sending my daughter to lehigh. She absolutely loves her experience there. She is in choice housing and her floor is a tight knit group. Her roommate and two other girls from her floor will be living together in choice housing next year as well. the curriculum is challenging and the opportunities are endless. Thanks for all your patience with my many concerns last year.

Hi all,

To put it gently, this year has been busy. Between my senior design project simulating a refinery process, my work in the unit operations lab, other classes, and my interests outside of the classroom, I didn’t have much time to post on CC these past few months.

Graduation is only weeks away at this point. I got a surreal feeling when I bought my diploma frame and tried on caps a few weeks ago. It’s hard to believe how fast the past four years have gone. Putting things in perspective, I have grown as an engineer, as a student, and as a human being - and I owe it all to this university. Lehigh has afforded me countless opportunities throughout the years.

I’ll be moving down to Johns Hopkins University in the fall to get my Ph.D. in chemical and biomolecular engineering. I hope to work with a professor there whose research involves nanoparticles and its applications to energy storage, solar energy, and stealth technologies. It was great feeling to visit the campus, sign the offer, and realize that my four years of work at Lehigh has finally paid off.

I appreciate the kind words that people have said about my thread. Not only was it kind of a hobby for me, but it also gave me opportunity to offer my opinions about Lehigh and hear other people’s opinions, as well.

Every once in a while, I’ll try to respond to the new threads on the forums, especially over the summer when things hopefully slow down for a bit.

Best,

I have reopened the “ask questions” thread, so I will close this one.
