<p>How should I write a thank you not to a teacher who saved my life? </p>
<p>During high school, my parents were severely abusive. I could not handle it so I acted out in school, took drugs, and was angry all the time. Then, one teacher my sophomore year took me aside and actually talked to me–the teacher showed me someone cared for me. From then on, the teacher has always been supportive and almost like a father-figure. I changed my entire life after that–I don’t party, do drugs, and have gotten all As and headed for a prestigious college.</p>
<p>How do you think I should thank him? I don’t want to sound pathetic, but he really changed my life! What should I say?</p>
<p>Dont need to buy him anything. As u said, he treated u as a son. U should also treat him as a father figure, visit him once u have time to update yr status, tell him how successful u r doing in college,etc.</p>

<p>First of all, kudos to you. I can’t possible imagine what it has taken for you to achieve as much as you have.</p>
<p>Second, we can’t possibly tell you how to express yourself here. What I would suggest is keeping him updated of your accomplishments in college. A lot of teachers like that in normal circumstances, but it’s especially important given what he did for you.</p>
<p>Make sure he knows that you think of him as a father and staying “good” is the best gift you can give him. Ten years from now, tell him how successful you are and that you wouldn’t have made it to where you are without him. Keep in touch!</p>
