Thanks Instructors for Their Recommendation

I’ve been recently accepted into an internationally recognized honor society (whose name I won’t mention) at the school I attend. Part of the application process was requesting the recommendation of four instructors of mine who could attest to my scholarship.

What type of gift or other kind gesture would be most appropriate for their recommendation?

My two stand-bys:

 • A box of baked goods (my high school teachers who wrote me rec. letters for college got homemade cookies and seemed quite pleased)
 • A decent thank you card/letter [with something actually meaningful written in it, not just ‘Thanks -(Name)’ ]

I"d go with both ^
