<p>So many thanks. I moved across country to marry, then back home, and the CC community was like talking to friends. Even tho I felt lost at times, there were always people with questions & answers. CC grounded me. </p>
<p>Many thanks to the posters who pointed me to car rental savings, new recipes, cleaning tips, etc. and encouraged me to try to run a marathon! 
When I was looking for a new toilet, I searched CC - and what would you know? - I came across a post by NYMom with a link to a plumbers’ site that had all sorts of toilet reviews and a phone number with my local area code! A few days after that discovery Mr B was picking up our new Toto toilet in Terry Love’s garage - just a few miles from our house. CC posters rock! :)</p>
<p>I joined in Jan 2009 and was a lurker for the most part until late May/early June of that year when I was so upset about something at D’s school. I posted on the HS Class of 2009 thread and found a group of thoughtful, caring people. Five years later, I am still part of that thread, have met 3 others in that group and look forward to meeting the others some day.</p>
<p>Bunsen, Terry Love lives near you?!?! That’s like having an Iron Chef in your neighborhood.</p>
<p>THANKS to all those who helped me find a mother-of-bride dress for D’s September 2013 wedding – I have no idea how I would have pulled this off without you, and got so many compliments on the dress!

<p>Thanks to the Seattle area posters who gave me ideas of where I could host an out-of-towner’s dinner for all the East Coast guests (and the bride’s family) coming to my son’s wedding in August. I am using one of the popular suggestions, sight unseen, to host ~80 people. Thanks to the posters who commiserated, critiqued and questioned me about dealing with wedding plans East Coast/West Coast and differing bride/groom family expectations. </p>
<p>Much to thanks for, but two top things that come to mind…
The D/E/W thread people for enticing me when I walked away a couple of times that I finally fulfilled a life long desire to run a 5k - and now run on a regular basis.</p>
<p>Many CC’ers who helped me plan the perfect trip to the Oregon coast last year from take off to landing back home! </p>

<p>Provide useful information not those who post rude, arrogant responses to posters, there is no need for it - </p>
<p>9 years, 2 bouts of undergraduate school, 2 bouts of graduate school, my husbands death, death of beloved pets, empty nest, sale of family home, surgery, etc…cc has been along for each and every event helping me with good advice and support. </p>
<p>Of course, 3togo for the Parent Caring for Parents thread. And to those who give solid, accurate finaid advice to complete strangers. And I am thankful for a hs gal who asked if her mom could email me with a few questions. The girl is now a rising college senior and her mom and I are solid email friends, a special experience. We’ve been through a lot together, good, bad, and worse.</p>
<p>I still have “sunriseeast” on a slip of paper on a wall in my home office, to remind me. Each of you who has revealed health challenges is sharing a part of your lives that strengthens us all. Thank you to those and best wishes.</p>
