"That thing that sets you apart"

So from what I’ve read from the Architecture threads and other threads is the importance to have something that sets you apart from the rest. I was recently accepted into an Architecture Apprenticeship Program sponsored by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Gifted Program and Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation. From what I have heard students will complete a site-specific design project, meet with architects, and visit Carnegie Mellon University Architecture Program and work with their Grads. I’m not gonna run through my stats but in general I have an A Average, 3.9 UW GPA, lots of AP’s, 1380/1600 SAT, pretty much the same as all other students applying to architecture schools. Do you think this Apprenticeship program could be a difference maker and make my application stand out or am I just hopeful?

It should help you with your application, why wouldnt it? Ive never heard of the program, I dont live near Pennsylvania, but colleges will definitely see your interest in architecture.

Of course it will help, but your great grades and SAT scores and demanding program are also important. Enjoy the program!
