thE ACT READING +math

What are some reading strategies for a slow reader aiming between 23 to 28 score? I am reading a lot of books this summer so i could get better score. i read the new york book review every day and read challenging books. I read 50 pages of book every day, do i need to read more? How did you study for the reading?

Math

I am working really hard on math, I don’t know how to improve
Do you have any idea, what are the challenging math problems?( I am an average math student)

would you give me the kind of math problems that you found challenging?

Thank you in advance, i hope you would help me

For reading I just have loved reading since I was 11. While others were calling me a nerd and watching TV I was broadening my vocabulary. I recommend you read the passage and answer all 10 questions in 8 minutes. That way you’ll finish and have 3 min to go over questions you missed or anything of that sort. Just keep practicing. My teacher gave me advice to read challenging articles as opposed to books. I only scored a 29 the first time but I hope with preparation this time I can achieve high 30s. As for math just get a book like cracking the act that goes over most of the problems. Buy the red book and as many practice tests as possible. GOOD LUCK :D.

Reading novels won’t help you very much. You have to be cautious on the ACT. I’ve read much more in textbooks than in novels, and it really paid off. I usually score 34-36 on the ACT reading because I read for information, not enjoyment. In fact, I’ve never really read much, it’s just when I do, I’m careful to understand.
