The whole thing went pretty fast. We left about 30 minutes later than I would have gone,but made it in plenty of time. It wasn’t like Judge Judy or Law and Order, but still interesting. The Judge came in about 35 minutes late, and my son went forward with his attorney. It lasted about 2 minutes, and I asked the attorney a couple of questions down the hall. The next date is Jan 14, and the sentencing will be in Feb. Last night I signed up for Prison Talk, just like CC ,except people talk about prison instead of college. I was disappointed because the convicts from the jail were up next, and I didn’t get to see them. It was easy to tell who the people being charged were because they looked so ill at ease wearing shirts and ties! We went out for breakfast afterwards.

Glad today was OK…but what was the purpose of today’s hearing…no need to share if you don’t want to.

Nice that there is nothing until after the holidays. Enjoy those!

Well, it’s over and you got through it fine. Good for you. Enjoy the Holidays and take good care of yourself. I am wishing you the best and really hope that Prison Talk will be a blessing, just like CC.

Hugs to you and your son, fauxmaven.

The purpose of today was to hear the formal charges they are charging my son with.

{{{ hugs }}}

Times are stressful. Now you can set some of this aside and enjoy the holidays.

Good that today is now behind you. Enjoy the holidays. Good thoughts heading your way.

That must have been difficult to listen to. Try to enjoy the holidays and all of us are here in spirit with you.

I am so glad you have another two months to enjoy your son.

You are an inspiration for being such a supportive parent. Do you know anything yet about where he will serve?

No,but it will probably be down in south Jersey, as that’s where most minimum security prisons are.The really SCARY part of all this is when he goes for processing and placement. No contact while he is there. They say they separate the violent offenders, but all funnel through this place. When my son was in jail, he was shackled and loaded into a truck in July without any light or A/C for a 5 minute ride to hear about bail. In the dark, he asked his neighbor what he was in for. “I killed my wife”, he answered.

fauxmaven - you have been in my thoughts. What a loving mother you are! The only way to get to the END of this situation is to get THROUGH it. You and your son are now one step closer to the end. Prayers and virtual hugs to you.

Add me to your list of well-wishers. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers this holiday season and beyond.

My advice is for him to keep to himself, share little with others, and not react to too much that goes on around him.
