<p>Can anyone know what is the best way to practise this art. My Math teacher does it like magic. I have tried a lot, but sometimes it does not give expected result since the pattern is not very clear.</p>

For example:
When the number k is multiplied by 5, the result is the same as when 5 is added to k. What is the value of 4k?</p>
<p>So: 5k = 5 + k
minus both sides with k, that gives you
4k = 5</p>
