The best 2nd half of R&C requirement courses??

I decided to take French R1B. I guess I just realized I won't be speaking any french in that class?? haha.

What are the best ones, so maybe i can just drop French R1B and take something else in the spring?

If you wanna finish the requirement, stick with French. If you want something else, wait until the spring, but keep in mind that it's gonna be a Phase I class.

The quality of the courses depend on the topics and GSIs, which change every semester.

I'm also interested in this topic. I'm doing my second half of R&C next semester as I didn't know I was going to need it until after orientation. Gah, AP Lit.

I'm sure it's pretty variable but which courses tend to be the easiest/most difficult? And how is Film R1B specifically?

People generally say that Comp Lit and English are the hard ones, and that film, theater, french, german, italian, french, asian, african american, etc. are easier. BUT, it really depends on the instructor you have. I'd suggest taking one that covers a topic you are somewhat interested in. It makes a big difference. For instance, I am not a big fan of writing literary essays and general R1B-ness, but I am taking an Anthro R5B course right now that has an emphasis on nature/environment, and I'm finding it to be one of the most rewarding classes I've ever taken at Cal.

really depends on your professor/GSI

but yes, german is known to be easier

I as well as most of my peers, hated my history of art R1B professor. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the class a bit more if she hadn't been so severe about describing art.
