I thinks, if anything, it’s a refreshing thread on this website. :)

can someone explain it? I dont really get it, he says he has done all these things, whcih isnt true, but then says an honest statment ‘have yet to go to college’ dont get it…

well for me, the hyperbolic tone of each statement provides a comedic effect for the whole essay

I found Waldo. Haha. Love that!

its just supposed to be funny. if you don’t ‘get it’ that’s because you’re trying to ‘get’ something. its a satire of college essays.

:)

I’ve heard it before; it’s very well-written, which is the main draw because it’s obviously a parody and contains no factual information. I only wish I could write like that.

what a bad essay
i feel bad for whichever college accepted him

How is it a bad essay? The writing is marvelous, the cadence is impeccable, and it’s wildly entertaining. It’s not true, but it’s so witty that you get a good sense of what the applicant is like anyway.

i seriously doubt just any simpleton could write a essay like that. It’s marvelous.

tru dat .

who wouldn’t like this essay?

^no one wouldn’t (not anyone with humor anyway). but not everyone would choose to submit that even if they could write it haha.

^ I agree.
While I love this essay, I have to say it does NOT tell us anything about Mr. Hugh besides that he can write well, and that he has a sense of humor.

I did not even know his name until today. (No, I’m not a n00b). -_-
