The Best Super Bowl Ad was?

Google ad was the best - kudos to them. And I’m not even a fan of Google. I also liked the ad for Vizio TV - robotic arms packing Twitter, numa-numa song guy, some game (WOW?), and such into a TV screen. Clever. Now I want one of those TVs to replace the miserably failing Sony.

Does anyone remember what the Brett Favre spot was advertising?

Nope. And frankly, the talking flowers in the box ad - which floral delivery company was it for?

Flip flops?

I just read that the google ad was not originally done for the Super Bowl. It has been on YouTube for a couple of months but they decided to release it to a wider audience. It has gotten great ratings on YouTube. Great ad.

Favre = Hyundai and their 10 year/100,000 warranty

Here you can see ALL the ads: [Super Bowl XLIV Commercials TV Show Video Clips Online | Fancast](http://www.fancast.com/tv/Super-Bowl-XLIV-Commercials/106501/clips?&page=1&num=32)

I liked the Letterman/Oprah/Leno. Short, sweet and to the point.

The one Coke commercial where he’s walking into animals was strange, especially the choice of music…I was listening at the time and heard “Bolero” and thought Torvill and Dean are doing a super bowl commercial?? ;)

ditto on the Google commercial.

"Nope. And frankly, the talking flowers in the box ad - which floral devivery company was it for? "

I think it was for TeleFlora…

Google has only ever put one ad on TV. One ad. Once. Pretty high standard.

Apparently. Letterman wanted Conan to be the third person on that sofa, but it did not happen:

[Letterman Wanted Conan on Super Bowl Ad Sofa](http://tv.yahoo.com/blog/letterman-wanted-conan-on-super-bowl-ad-sofa--975)

I liked the Brett Farve ad

The Tebow ad was on at the very beginning as someone else said, but the Betty White/Abe Vigoda (funny) was not on at the beginning in my area, so I think the ordering might be different in different markets. Agree Tebow as overhyped, we all said “that was it?”

I haven’t seen anyone mention the Superbowl Shuffle ad, so maybe it was regional. It was for a phone company? and it was a bunch of old Chicago Bears from the 1986 superbowl doing a “remake” of their superbowl shuffle song with different words for the sponsoring company. McMahon, Ditka, etc. It was funny for those who remember the original.

Simpsons coke was ok.

Do they really have shock collars for dogs which are anti-bark? That bothered me as much as the kid hitting the adult in the other doritos ad.

I was annoyed at the mini tv ad for the guy who didn’t have a spine but the ad for that same company which was showed historical video clips was good.

Like to see Bud ads, wish there was a better Clydesdale one. The house made out of beer was original.

Liked the google ad.

There was a regional political ad which surprised me. Heard on the news this am it was a 15 sec ad and it only cost 20k so I guess it was a good deal. There were lots of very short ads, maybe 5-10 secs.

Not nearly enough animals  The fiddling beaver was ok.

Ones I liked. . .Google, etrade babies–jealous girlfriend, Betty White, Joy Ride, Green Police (I always wondered what might happen if I threw away a battery ;)) Actually, I liked most of them. . .Budweiser, Coke, etc.
except the Doritos ones (the kid slapping the mom’s date was the BEST of them, imo).
The funniest thing was the WARNING on the “Bachelor Party”–something like “Professional Driver on Closed Road. Do Not Attempt.” LOL What about that “Killer Whale” stuffed in the vehicle? I guess there’s no problem with kidnapping Shamu from Sea World as long as you don’t drive too fast with him.

I got a kick out of Man’s Last Stand. H and I were watching and I’m checking off the list. . .
We don’t have a dog to walk, H doesn’t eat fruit for breakfast, never rinses the sink, always leaves dirty clothes on the floor, etc.,etc.,etc., and I separate the recycling. So, honey, THAT’S why you’re driving the 9yo Hyundai.
(He’s lucky to have a wife like me who doesn’t care about most of those things.)

I loved the Google ad.

Simple, to the point and reflects how we search for information now. Very well done!

Yes, they do.

Shock collars are pretty common around here…not for barking…but for invisible fences. I know some folks have tried them just to see what they feel like. It’s not good.
Anyway, I hate the thought of these things…so I enjoyed seeing the taunting jerk get collared with it.

If I had to guess, males and females would rate at least SOME of the ads very differently. Not many females would give a thumbs up to those stupid Go Daddy ads. I would have hoped that Dana would be a little more selective…

cartera45,

“flip flops?”

Well played.

Could it be that one reason we liked the Google ad so much is that so many of the other ads were so mean-spirited? (That may be another reason with the Tebow ad came off as well as it did.)

I thought the Tebow ad was sweet, but strange. “When I was pregnant with my son, I almost lost him. Now I love him very much.” Um, yeah? And? We needed an ad to tell us this?

The Google ad was brilliant for a superbowl ad for a couple reasons: a) much different than the normal beer/car commercials that go for a male version of funny. Half the people watching the superbowl are women. And of those actually paying attention to the commercials, I’m guessing more than half are women…b) totally visual, as in if the party around you was loud, you still got the commercial. The party I was at, that commercial got a loud “AHHH” from the audience. When most commercials got a “what did they say?”.

And I’m guessing no one at the party I was at registered the Tebow commercial for the very reason you had to hear it to get it.
