i drew a plate of milk and cookies and a sign that said “for santa” and wrote, “the innocence of childhood” underneath.

xmas wins.

hahhahahaha

yep yep yep.:)

wait a minute, i dont remeber any box~!!!

Ah yea I don’t remember any box… was this in Common App??

It was on a page called the Signature page.
http://www.futureowls.rice.edu/images/futureowls/FreshmanSignaturePage.pdf
Print and mail that ASAP…

Is this necessary to send out? I didn’t see it in the common app either…

The reason why I say this is because I received my pin info and everything in mid-January and there was no box for the status of a Signatures Page…everything else was received.

look at number 9.
(from Rice.edu)

I drew a tree with an owl sitting on the branch next to her nest, with two baby birds falling and one flying away(like their first time trying to fly), and wrote success at the
bottom? You think that’s stupid?

For all those who didn’t send it…

call the admissions office. That’s what I did. They told me to fax it or send it by mail, but it’s not EXTREMELY important coz it won’t have much of a bearing on their decision. However, i dont think they can accept you without the page, so do send it in as soon as possible.

o and to respond to the thread, i had a picture of Gandhi and underneath it, a quote saying “You must be the change you wish to see in this world.”

GAH! How did I miss this? I want to do horrible physical pain inducing activities to myself for having ignorantly overlooked such thing!

I will send it ASAP. But can anybody clarify the importance of this one page? Will they hold my admission decision or, as Indy500 put it, would they simply accept me but rather reject/waitlist me?

I don’t get it. . .

I know you’re feeling man.

Hi —.

Yes, we do need you to mail the signature page right away so that we can consider your application.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Amy Longfield

Admission Counselor

Rice University

amyl@rice.edu

That’s what they told me when I e-mailed them to ask them how important it was. But then when I called, they told me it wasn’t a VERY big deal and that I should send it when I can. so i played it safe by listening to the counselor who e-mailed me…im guessin with the large number of applicants they received this year, they wont consider your application without it. thank god i checked this thread tho…otherwise i never woulda sent it.

just for those of you wondering why this page is so important, it’s not really the box but the signature of the honor code. rice has a serious honor code and sending in this signature page says that you followed that honor code while filling out your app.

do you only have to do this if you applied offline. i used the common app, but I’m too worried bc I got an email confirming my app and I went to visions

collegebound_91, Rice.edu states that the signature page IS for online applicants…

My friend just got a likely letter from rice and she never sent in a signiature page/didn’t know it existed till I just mentioned it to her…

yea um… i also got a likely letter but didn’t know about this until about… 38 seconds ago.

haha i can’t decide whether i should send it in now…

You have to to be considered, so yeah, I would.

All it’s going to cost you is a stamp. The page takes like five seconds to fill out. Just draw a picture of a happy face or something, it doesn’t matter. I say better safe than sorry.
