<p>Don’t limit yourself to what other people put. Just answer the question “what appeals to you?”</p>
<p>Pebbles is right. This is more of a chance to exhibit some reflection of your personality than a test of creativity. You can read into the question however you’d like, opting to be creative if you want or choosing to be simple and direct. Just don’t look at this as a something you have to spice up to capture attention. Be, simply, you.</p>

<p>my box was very simple…it didn’t even have any color or anything. i only used a pencil…but i answered exactly what the question asked me “fill in the box to the right with SOMETHING THAT APPEALS TO YOU”</p>

<p>i think you misunderstood me beramod…i meant that i simply used a pencil to draw something that appealed to me…i didnt use a pencil to answer my question…that would be completely ridiculous…but my point was that i really dont think you have to make it all fancy and creative and colorful just to impress the adcom…just fill it in with something that represents you well, be it simple or more complex</p>

<p>I put a picture of a cheesecake that I had made and decorated myself. It made me hungry.</p>
<p>I don’t think it’s a huge deal. I have a friend who’s at Rice right now who wrote his favorite poem in the box.</p>
<p>Just do NOT put pictures of Rice or write Rice or something like that. They get that all the time, and it’s unoriginal.</p>
<p>I made a little mini book with something that tied in with my Personal Statement. I was really pleased with how it turned out.</p>
<p>i had a collage of things i liked…had stuff about tennis, the red wings, football, hinduism, and a van gogh painting</p>
<p>I put a picture of my aunt’s house [which I consider my permanent home because my family moves around a lot]. I think the box is a pretty cool idea. Makes the app a little different than other schools.</p>
<p>I didn’t even notice this thread before I posted in the other one…anyways, I put a picture of my golden retriever swimming towards me with two tennis balls in her mouth in the box, and wrote underneath it the caption: “A relaxing afternoon at the pool with my dog, Jenny”</p>
