The Bragging Thread

Oh! D just shared she got to do a design colab with South African singer and songwriter Tyla, for Nike - for a NY Fashion Week event. Said when you see Nike start selling the bra top, it’s all hers! Can’t wait until her name starts to land on these garments and costumes. She says she’s just having fun! ETA Tyla in the garment!

My 37 year old daughter is working from my house today as her car is at a shop nearby. Listening to her lead a meeting with such confidence reminds me how smart and hardworking she is. I know, I still think of her as a teenager sometimes, but hearing her speak reminds me she is an adult/mother/wife and does all 3 well! While she will say “adulting” is hard work, she has gone far in her career and I expect she will continue to flourish.

Doing a brag for a cc’er whose daughter’s Broadway show we saw this past weekend. Just wonderful!!

My daughter was chosen to play in an international tournament in Australia in January. I get to stay home with the dogs.

She’s trying to get into playing shape and has joined an adult league on Sundays, has a personal trainer (at 6 am), and will probably sign up for speed training. It’s tough being the ‘old lady’ at 27 when most of the team is still playing in college so on a training routine and playing fall ball while you are working 60 hours a week at a desk.

Such wonderful achievements! Perfect MCATs, Broadway, conferences, famous designers, such an accomplished group.

My son is doing well on his rotating internship and staying busy getting ready for next year. His wife passed her pre test to get ready for the PANCE with flying colors. She has 2 rotations to go then graduation and the PANCE.

At least they now know where they will be for the next 4 years! My son was offered the veterinary radiology residency that he wanted back at his graduating university. They both decided that is where they want to live long term. Not a fancy big town but a place that feels like home. He accepted the offer and will get the contract to sign in a few days. They also found a house they want and will be making an offer on it tomorrow! Such big things happening.

My daughter (no college, no job, single mom of a 4 1/2 year old) is 37 weeks pregnant so we have a lot here since she lives with us. The father of the baby is an alcoholic with no home and causing major issues. She needs to be bragged on for just getting through this with her severe depression and anxiety.

@momocarly - this thread is to celebrate all things large and small. What your D is handling right now is no small feat. She deserves to be bragged on!

Life is not perfect, and being able to deal with things that are difficult to deal with is definitely cause for celebration.

Kind of weird brag, but…

when my daughter was practicing medicine in LA, she said she would look at patients and wonder, “What have I see you in?”. Now that’s she’s practicing in the DC area, she looks at patients and wonders, “OK, just who are you?” She said she needs to start watching the news on TV again since last night she had a former President of Guatemala as patient. (And had no idea who he was until someone told her.)

Apparently the hospital she works for gets a lot of governmental officials (US as well other countries) and US politicians’ family members as patients.

My kid is fully board certified in their specialty, having now passed both oral and written boards.

Same kid is now in a developing country working and teaching for a month.

I have a friend who speaks very little English. Most of our communication is through a translation app. I just finished helping them clear up some confusion with a medical provider. When I texted to let them know it was straightened out, their replied warmed my heart. I don’t know how they wrote it in Mandarin, but the English translation is

“Thank you, meeting you is my greatest luck.”

I’m the OP to this thread. I love hearing the wonderful brags about you and yours. My request is that we please keep to this sort of post…not just info posts. Perhaps those would be better placed in a new thread. They really aren’t a brag.

Here is the OP to this thread. Thanks! We have so many things to be proud of, and to brag about! I love this thread for that reason!
