As soon as I can, you bet. It’s a video so it shouldn’t take long!
@JustaMom terrific…and that would be a dream come true for a LOT of people. Looking forward to the pictures!
Grand daughter, Twin A, is writing out words on her chalkboard. This morning I got a video of her of her–completely unprompted-- writing out her name on her chalkboard. Then she erased her name, wrote her twin’s name, erased that and then wrote her little brother’s name.
She’s 3 1/2. I suspect this one is going be an early reader.
That’s really exciting, JustaMom! Congrats to your D!
Two more classes to complete his master’s in CS. Nothing less than 93% in any class so far. Way to go, son!
Oh! It sounds like the Bruno Mars/Lady Gaga video/song collab may be coming as soon as Aug 23rd!

Bruno Mars and Gaga video dropped last night and already has 2 million + views.
So D designed Gaga’s garments - and has been contacted for more for Gaga. We love when artists come back for more!
Gaga’s costume is great - not loving the hair and makeup (so plastic looking - but I think that was what they were going for)
Thanks for sharing
I love the outfit, but I hate that she’s smoking.
Smoking hot or smoking cigarettes ?
LOL! I don’t find her attractive, but I was referring to the cigarette.
So good they used your D’s outfit instead of making her something out of scraps. Haha!
Celebrating small (and no so small) successes and steps toward adulting -
Son and DIL both navigated fairly impressive job changes, within a month of each other (It appears he was 1 of over 100 applicants, and it was quite a process. She had to go through more than she was told before she was offered the job. BUT, they both made it through all the hoops to success).
Step-d did not get asked not to return for her job this coming school year (yay!), and her SO (a guy we like and seems to be good for and to her) will be settling on their starter home in the next couple of weeks.
It’s been nice to see how they’ve navigated these processes, with little help from us.
Indeed - and now my in jest snarky “article” can be used another day!
S1 is going to be starting a new job, for the people he interned for seven years ago. He’s excellent at staying in touch with people, and excellent at staying on good terms with people. He will be 100%, completely, fully remote, and he couldn’t be happier.
S2 and DIL are spending a fortune to add a new deck to their house. When the construction folks demolished the old deck, they discovered that the old oil tank under the deck had not been properly decommissioned 35 years ago. S2 and DIL had an absolute freak-out, imagining thousands and thousands of dollars to remediate this thing and a huge delay in the deck build. Son capably dealt with it, found someone to deal with the tank, and all that will happen is an additional $1200 charge and just a one-day delay. I’m hoping this teaches them that they can handle big, scary things.
i finally watched this video and have questions, if you can and would be willing to answer.
The detailed stitching on Gaga’s outfit seems quite close to the stitching on Bruno’s jacket. Did she have access to his outfit before she did Gaga’s so that they could replicate it, or did she see pics and just tried to get it as close as possible? How long did she have to pull it together?
Also, I imagine getting the bow/ blouse combo to lie just so would be tricky. Does she ever get to go on set to personally style the artists?
TIA. Just curious how it all works!
How long did she have to pull it together?
Initially a week from when designs were approved. However this time the design was approved, then pulled, then approved again, leaving literally 18 hours to complete the look.
Does she ever get to go on set to personally style the artists - she does sometimes, like Megan Thee Stallions dancers. And Jennifer Hudson & Billie Eilish. But most of the time the celebs have their “people” who take over. Often the celebrity also has seamstresses and tailors to alter on site.
All good questions!
This weekend I went to see my daughter and we had about an hour before dinner with her inlaws-to-be, so we went to the casino. We had no idea what we were doing, and went to the cashier and he said we could just put money into the machine. She did one, so I tried it and nothing. I tried another dollar and nothing, so we went to another set of machines. She got nothing, but my one dollar started dinging and saying I had won more spins, and finally got up to 66 spins. I won $43 and I never touched the pull arm or the ‘spin’ button again.
Our dinner was $42!
Mom is inundated with scam phone calls. She engaged with one today (summary - they were “security” and wanted her to wire $8000 and they would return $4000 because some bad guys had already removed $3900 from her account). She talked to them for a “long time” but before giving any account information, she told them she had to talk to a family member first. She called me and I identified it as a scam. Yay go Mom for calling a family member!!
Years ago someone taught me the very basics of mah jong and I really liked it but didn’t really know how to play and had no one to play with. I still had the print outs, a book I’d bought, 2 sets I bought in China, and I’ve always wanted to play again.
I saw a notice for a mah jong club at the Y, so two weeks ago I showed up and they were nice enough to let me play and explained the rules (again) to me. This week I went back and I won 3 of the 5 games. I’m so excited to have a new activity!
This is Chinese style, not American so no card and I don’t understand that at all. I’m not up to scoring yet, but some of the others aren’t either.
