With this year’s AP scores at the end of sophomore year, D26 now has 25 units of course credit at her preferred in-state college. And if things go well next year, she’ll have 48 units of course credit by the time she graduates. So she could end up starting college basically as a 2nd semester sophomore. We are pretty excited about this.
S started college with 60 credits. He told us he could graduate early but we told him enjoy his time there so he mainly enjoyed the ability to register earlier.
Im’ a GRANDMA. Not my doing so I don’t know why I am bragging, but I am happy.
Congrats!
But that Fruity Pebbles one… ![]()
Why? It’s just a donut! Which donut place? We LOVE Fractured Prune.
I have had found magnificent donuts in Portland, OR but I’m abstaining these days.
In mid-April, I decided to lose weight and am down over 20 pounds. I guess that’s a brag.
Twenty pounds was my goal but 10 pounds more was what I weighed when I completed grad school. I was a lot more muscular then. So, I’m going to shoot for another 10 pounds. Alas (from a weight loss standpoint only), I have to go to a friend’s 40th anniversary party tonight and to couple’s house tomorrow night (she is an excellent cook) for dinner. This will not help me reach my new goal.
Nostalgia, I remember a time when I ate donuts. ![]()
And drank milkshakes.
I used to travel to PDX regularly. I was one of those annoying travelers bringing home Voodoo donuts for the family. Taking that pink box through security, placing in the overhead, etc. Ugh. I’m still salty. I didn’t eat the donuts!
Love Voo Doo donuts!!
Was thrilled when Universal area in Orlando had a location open up there.
Oh gracious! Shhhh.
My wife and I typically solve the NYT Sunday crossword in around 2 hours which is nothing to brag about. But…
our son solved last Sunday’s in 31:19.
I don’t understand how this is possible.
I just completed a strength test and it says my “BioAge” is 29!
Not bad for a guy on Medicare.
Another dream fulfilled -
Last week D had a costume designed and approved for Lady Gaga, who’s doing a video gig with Bruno Mars. Sadly, the stylist pulled out saying they found extra fabric from Bruno’s costume and would instead make a garment from the remnants. D was
—- as a joke I said I’d write a review of the video saying “Bruno looked great but Gaga looked like someone cobbled together scraps of leftovers” we all had a laugh. But then, yesterday afternoon she got a text, Gaga wants D’s costume! And it’s due today, because they’re shooting the video today. All hands on deck, garment made, fittings completed and Gaga is wearing original work of D! She’s been saying since she’s 15 or 16, one day I want to design something for her!
Dream big and support your creatives!
@JustaMom — please post a photo if you can. I’m definitely a fan of both Mars & Gaga.
