Nice work! What a special, personalized way to send holiday greetings.
What a lovely gift for others to receive! Beautifully crafted with love.
Now we know where your kiddo got their design/artistic talent!
I come to the table with a proverbial box of 64 Crayola crayons / she, on the other hand, comes with everything needed to create a masterpiece! (thank you for putting me in her category)
I did my good deed today. I had gotten some pretty, long stem red roses (a dozen) that were marked down in our local supermarket to $4! So I bought a dozen. Then, after leaving the gym I stopped at TJ’s to get something. The guy in front of me had a bouquet of small white roses so I let him know about the deal at the supermarket (and another nearby supermarket where they sell them for $8.99). He then said this bouquet was only 5.99. I noticed there several of the roses had fallen off their stems so pointed this out to him just as we were getting up to the register, in case he wanted to get a different bunch. The cashier heard me point this out to him, she looked at the bouquet and said that because so many had fallen off she was giving the bouquet to him for free!! He was happy!
Bragging on some more adulting by my son. They had their home inspection and he negotiated the glitches himself, got the contractor to pay for the Radon mitigation system, negotiated with our inept bank and closed just before a blizzard started.
Next he got his wife moved in (with almost no furniture), managed to get his plane moved up two days early to get back to his internship, drove to the town where the airport is in a sleet storm in his father-in-law’s car with numerous detours and made his flight.
Then his flight was delayed but one of the last ones out before the blizzard hit. He then ran through the Denver airport and made his shuttle with 2 minutes to spare!
His wife had her first day of work as a certified PA then had 13 in of snow and shoveled by herself to let the dog out!
So nice to see them grow and know they will be so happy to finally live in the same state come June!
SIL is trending on X and BlueSky–at least in the theoretical mathematics corner.
He and his co-author published a pre-print yesterday showing that they’ve proven Zauner’s Conjecture.
(No idea what Zauner’s Conjecture is, or why it’s important. I only know that it’s a linear algebra problem he’s been working on for 20 years. He’s pretty stoked. He even broke out the champagne this evening.)
LEO son is now a Tactical Emergency Casualty Care(TECC) Instructor.
He’ll teach a class like this…
…so he can train other first responders to perform like this, especially in situations where typical EMS professionals aren’t allowed due to the inherent danger.
My son just received cookies as a thank you from a person whose life he saved. First time he has gotten cookies, but not the first time he has saved a life😀
Congratulations to you, him, and the person he saved!
My in-laws always gave cookies as a thank you gift to everybody. I used to laugh when they would say - Went to the doctor for my surgery follow up exam and brought them cookies as a thank you. (Mind you they were really good cookies from a local Italian bakery!)
Maybe @Catcherinthetoast’s ds saved your in-laws!
Blue Origin finally sent its rocket, New Glenn, up into space. It’s been a long time coming. S2 worked on this rocket, and I’m sure (
) it was due to his good work that it was a success.
My cousin’s son works there too! A year or so ago, there was a segment on one of the morning news shows of a tour inside their first launched manned rocket. I looked up, and there was my cousin‘s son!
Here’s a brag.
You know you raised a thoughtful loving son when he and his wife spend the weekend in Chicago and make a special stop on the way home to bring you (ME!!!) a big bag of Garrett’s Chicago mix.

He’s a keeper!
My daughter learned she will be promoted in April to Associate Director. I am so proud of her. It is nice that her hard work is being recognized. This makes her a manager of a manager - quite a big job for a 31 year old!
Imagine my happiness upon receiving this text from my son.
I got officially promoted to Sector Head!! And they were struggling to find things to critique. Said I knock it out of the park on my intellectual honesty, curiosity, work ethic, attention to detail, communication. He just said, make sure you stay humble, because success can change people, try to stay just the way you are!!!
If you’ll be watching the Grammy’s tonight, D just texted…35 dancers for Shakira, which was a design colab - I also designed a custom suit for Zedd (I think he’s a dj…?) it’s for red carpet and he’s nominated for dance album or something -
(she’s been out of pocket for almost 2 weeks, and now I know why!)
I can’t say it enough…support your creatives!
Loved the backup dancers, especially the chains across the chest!
