I’m going to be a commuter student, and the bus will be my form of transportation for now. The bus I would use is the C8 as it runs close to my house, and goes directly to the campus. If I remember correctly, the C8 towards College Park station stops on Campus Drive right in front of the Stamp Student Union. My question is, shouldn’t I theoretically just be able to walk to the opposite side/stop and catch the C8 towards White Flint from there? The Metro website is telling me I have to take another bus (J4) to a “College Park Station & Bus Bay” before I can catch the C8 that goes towards White Flint. The Trip planner on the website can be a little sketchy sometimes though. Anyone know much about this?

Soul133, I think what you are finding is that the College Park stop is the end of line stop. So you can get a bus if you on the right schedule from that stop but it would not be the same bus and depending on the time of day, there may be a different stop that fits the schedule better. Check out this page to find more details on the C8 route: http://www.wmata.com/bus/timetables/md/c8.pdf

Ah, thanks for pointing that out! I had that pdf from previous bus planning, but what I did notice today was that it leaves out some of the stops in the pdf. The answer to my confusion was that the trip planner calculates trips as if humans don’t know how to cross a street. As a result it told me to go to the final stop before I could go the other direction, when I could simply just cross over to the opposite bus stop. Silly Metro. Thanks again for the help!
