The Cadillac ELR ad....

I like the ad with the poem, though I couldn’t tell you what it’s advertising. Mr. Fang and I were proud to be able to identify the Sagrada Familia in a tiny clip-- we’re big fans of Gaudi. At least, we’re pretty sure it’s two seconds of Sagrada Familia.

I like those, too, dstark, they’re nicely done. Don’t forget the TD in TD Ameritrade! Can’t forget those Canadians.

Alwaysamom, lol.

When H and I saw this, we agreed that there is a reason we will never have a Cadillac … we don’t want to be the pretentious d_bag this guy appears to be. (Full disclosure: I would LOVE to have a Cadillac; I just won’t ever be able to afford one). I am glad that some folks live, eat, sleep, and breathe work. They help our businesses run. Me, I prefer to enjoy my life in a different way. To each his own.

An old boyfriend had a Cadillac when I was in high school. An old one, but I couldn’t say what year, it didn’t have fins, it was like a boat. ( oh maybe it did have fins, but not as pronounced as later years)

I kept thinking the Germans have six weeks of vacation and make great cars! Not the reaction I was supposed to have I assume. I liked the calculating babysitter ad the first couple of times.

Currently am having fun with Patrick Stewart’s ad’s for WNYC’s current pledge drive. I’m sure I’ll be sick of them before the week is over, but he seems to have recorded quite a few different ones. <a href=“Heed Sir Patrick Stewart’s Call To Support WNYC | WNYC | New York Public Radio, Podcasts, Live Streaming Radio, News”>http://www.wnyc.org/patrick-stewart-wnyc-pledge/

Good point. I don’t think it helped Cadillac to have its commercials up against all those BMW ads.

Actually, this totally misses the point.

It’s not about making great cars, it’s about the average citizen being able to afford them. That does not happen in Germany. They take the bus.

But the average US citizen can’t afford a Cadillac, either. That’s why the commercial shows the guy in a palatial house. If he was a real guy, he’d probably be driving the BMW.

It’s about possibilities. But, I agree it’s awful and probably no longer applicable.
