The Cafe Watering Hole: PART DEUX

I checked out Slaughterhouse-Five, On Chesil Beach, and The Road to read on spring break.

zomg The Road is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

As is Slaughterhouse-Five.

I have no knowledge of On Chesil Beach.

Tell me when you finish Slaughterhouse-Five so we can discuss its genius.

na na na na na you know I’m rollin wit da D R E.

Oh, other snoop.

I’m reading Slaughter house 5 for my Honors Eng class. Kurt Vonnegut is a genious.

Interesting.

Other snoop is my dog. And On Chesil Beach is Ian McEwan, and I like Ian McEwan. So.

Oh yeah, I really liked the Great Gatsby. The whole idea of the “American Dream” seemed to fit well with these tough times.

The Great Gatsby wasn’t my thing. I’ve been meaning to read something by Ian McEwan, I just haven’t got around to it yet. I’ve been reading a lot of Shakespeare lately, something just clicked this year and I have a new found appreciation for him.

Snoop, when your first novel comes out I’m expecting a line in the Acknowledgments about the Cafe.

If you insist.

And read Atonement, because it’s the only Ian McEwan I’ve read but really liked his style. Saturday is always checked out, though, so I’ll read that next.

Maybe I’ll even give Hemingway another shot too.

The Canadian will tell you that he’s so used to the cold that it doesn’t phase him anymore.

If I were to go to Princeton, I would find the winters balmy. The east coast is so much warmer than the Midwest. Even Columbus is so much warmer than where I live.

I see.

California has earthquakes. Eurgh.

I’ll do that. I love spring break, I can just pick up a book and read it.

I’m going to miss my favorite pizza place. And my favorite hot dog place. And my favorite gyro place. Ughhh hunger.

I have only a favorite burrito place. Holy mother of god, I’m going to miss that place. Other than that, nah.

There are no restaurants here, so I won’t miss them. Homecoming dates quite frequently transpire at Pizza Hut, since it’s one of the nicer restaurants around here.

I love burritos. There’s this place in Irving Park with the best salsa, zomg. I’ll miss all of the food here.

Sleepy. G’night.

G’night, mate.

How much do I like Stanford?

You like it this much: http://images.chron.com/blogs/whitehouse/archives/negroponteafp.jpg</a> or this much:http://www.grouplens.org/system/files/DSC_0099_m_s.jpg</a></p>

I wanted to go to Stanford Summer HS college but wasn’t confident/too lazy to apply.

I’m out for the night too.Ciao.

Yeah, Better Tagging Systems is just that fascinating.

Mike, do not read Atonement first. Read Saturday. It’s so much better. If you liked that, then you can read Atonement.

Also, Snoop, I liked The Old Man and the Sea. I somehow found a way of integrating it into every SAT essay prompt I’ve ever seen.

Gross. The Old Man and the Sea is puh.

The Old Man and the Sea and Mean Girls.

I still have more newspaper articles to write.

I haven’t read the old man and the sea yet. I hope it’s good. Mean girls is one of my favorite movies. "You back-stabbing slut faced ho bag."lol.

For some reason everytime i read your sn the JoBros come to mind.

My school newpaper sucks. Any suggestions?

Include mostly stuff that students want to read. We do senior profiles, he said /she said, word of the issue, and an advice column. You can only report so much news.
