What color tie goes with a black shirt and black pants? Someone tell me in the next hour and a half.

Purple, grey, or red (but that’s really boring).

I need help.

So a year ago, my couselor asked my 2 classmates and me to visit this panda facility and work on a long term project of raising ‘panda awareness.’

I actually did this to please him, because I honestly didn’t need another activity.
Now, we have all the materials, postcards, souvenirs, brochures, a powerpoint presentation, but we haven’t really officially presented it to anyone. We were planning to hand down this project to the current juniors.

The counselor ‘threatened’ my classmate today (and us) - that if we didn’t make a presentation or something, he’d write letters to our colleges.

However, I’m going to Berkeley, and they didn’t see his letters where he mentioned this little project. To him, there’s a lot of emphasis to it. To us, it’s really not much - I vaguely mentioned it in my application; at most, it was an example of a community service activity I was a part of.

So we’re thinking, he really can’t do anything. But here’s the catch, knowing him for 2 years, he probably hasn’t sent out our transcripts yet (Berkeley wants a copy by mid July). Also, I honestly don’t want any trouble, any hint of it. I know it won’t really hurt me, but I don’t want the possibility of problems.

And now my mom’s telling me not to go on with it - I’ve been accepted to college and I graduated 10 days ago.

So what do I do? Go through the hassle of a presentation, or no?
As a side note, I forgot how it feels like to go to school -shivers-

Call Berkeley and tell them your situation. In the end they probably will say that they really couldn’t care less… then you can blow your teacher off. Or you can just go and do the presentation and make it really ****ty. Or you can tell the teacher you lost everything…what’s he going to do? Or you can say you’re busy with helping your family with something…who knows what…or you can say any number of things. You can also call/email Berkeley to ask if they have received your transcripts…yea im just blabbing…

I highly doubt a random letter saying you backed out of a random project presentation is going to affect Cal’s opinion of you. You are one among many, many new undergrads. Don’t sweat it.

I, however, don’t know my fourth quarter GPA yet. Ahhh.

do a 2 minute presentation to your parents and call it a day.

I went with a muted-silver- greyish tie. And it’s not boring, Joli, I look “hella fly”, as you west-coasters say, in all black.

I agree with Venkat, just do a tiny presentation.

hella fly…YES!

No, freaky, I meant red and all black was boring. It’s very common. Grey/silver was my top choice, so good work. Or wait, hella fresh.

Mike, what was it for?

O yea, and i had questions about how much Bears tickets cost…and how much cubs tickets cost…GRACIAS!

229 pages of watering hole goodness…

nice… I have 86 pages :D

I’m guessing that was a jab about my tendency to rant about my personal life here, but I don’t care. Yes, I kind of am a drama queen. I don’t create drama, though. I just don’t react well to it.

I’m scared for college…

As am I. College is going to freak me out. I’ll be like 1500 miles away from home so like I dont even get to go back if anything happens. W/e, I’m prepared to bounce but im friggin out!

^I go to college close enough that I can come home any weekend I want. I’ve only come home on breaks. Unless you live really close to your college, you won’t go home very often. If you live very close you only go home for laundry.

I didn’t get into Wharton. Now my mom thinks that I won’t get a job. I tried to show her that from my school and majors many people go on to make good money and work for big name companies, but she won’t believe it. O well :(

@Sheed, senior pics, and good bears tickets cost anywhere from $50-$200, and cubs tickets cost about the same.

@Joli, did you call me freaky? Really?

You took your senior pictures really early. Were they all formal or did you get to change outfits?

And yes. Yes I did call you freaky. Really.

We have to take them in June, don’t ask me why. They offered me a free outfit change, I politely declined. It’s actually a good story, and here it is.

Grad Photos Story

So I’m sitting there in the waiting room, and the lady at the desk said, “You’ll either have Jeff or Maria.” The door swings out from the photo room and I hear “Muchos Gracias, have a great summer!” In a feminine voice, so I think, OK, I guess I have Maria. Wrong. That was Jeff. It turns out Jeff is possibly the campiest, most effeminate gay man ever to walk the Earth. When he wanted me to take serious pictures, he would squeak, “Be a man!”, and “You’re a big strong man!”. Every time he said this, I died laughing, and he finally said “Hold it in! Beauty takes work!” After this, I completely lost it and we had to take a 5 minute break, after which we agreed to no more encouragement on his part. I did take one picture with his zebra striped throw pillow, though. I’m thinking about using it as my yearbook pic.

Hahaha… that’s really funny. I love flamboyant gay men, so I’m jealous.

We have (had) to take senior pictures during the summer at some point.
