The Cafe Watering Hole

I’ve never really been to a party. I don’t even go to friends’ houses, because I don’t have friends. I need some lessons on how to be less lame.

JB, how can you say things like that but not annoy me? Usually people are really annoying when they say things like that.

Maybe you should give lessons to others on being matter-of-fact. And that is a compliment.

And just a general fyi, high school parties are lamelamelame. But then again, I do come from a small town. So when I say that I mean small town high school parties are lamelamelame.

I’m really getting sick of work.

I guarantee my town is smaller than yours. But as for the matter-of-fact thing, in that post I just made sure to place the blame on myself rather than on everybody else. There’s also a certain value in just saying things the way they are, and not trying to cover it up with something else. I am a die-hard fan of brutal honesty.

I’m getting really sick of my job too. I work at a butcher shop, and everybody has all of these little control quirks. They get satisfaction from making others look stupid. It’s also really exhausting, usually somewhat gross, and definitely stressful at times. I had another job offer of a guy in town with an importing business, and there I would be making Excel spreadsheets and uploading photos to eBay. That’s much more appealing to me than washing dishes and wrapping hamburger.

Oh my gosh, go for the second job, seriously.

I love eBay. Especially for Joyce boots.

joyce boots…wow!

what about th boots with the fur?

(to Sheed) The whole club was looking at her.

I still need some. I’m contemplating being That Girl for Halloween still.

Yes, I plan on buying my Halloween costume before I go to college.

PS: Thanks for the wall post, haha.

wow, i totally forgot i wrote anything…i actually had to go back and check

haha

We should start one of these threads in the High School forum or the College Search forum, and just make sure each post has something random about high school or a college search. That way we get tons of post counts just for talking about random things.

ehhh, the only reason we get away with what we do is that we dont get any posts…

Wow, sillies.

The 4th of July so isn’t my thing. I need to move to a foreign country.

I have two friends that are in Europe, and they’re not coming home until next week. It would be nice to be able to go shopping on the 4th. The Prezzie would blast you as an ungrateful liberal who has been spoiled by a strong military and great civil servants. But who cares what he thinks.

The Canadian is in Croatia, and he has yet to contact civilization.

Ahaha. Okay.

It’s gloomy here.

Oh, btw, let us have a small town competition. How many people you got?

Joli…I agree.

Everything being closed is really ruining my day.

Okay, I. Am. So. Excited.

One of my guaranteed professors for a freshman-required class is ALSO the Assist. Professor of French Language and Literature! AND! He has his PhD from Princeton. I am so lucky.

Actually, only 300 have the town’s zip code. My school district serves 550 students, 25% of which do not live in the district. My town has no gas station; the nearest one is five miles away. There is a small overpriced general store in town, but most people just go there to get snacks. There is also one restaurant a mile north of town, but that’s mostly for old people. Anything else?

Okay, you win. I don’t…

My town is 5,000 people and I feel like I can’t breathe here. That really doesn’t make any sense. We have a “few” big chain stores (i.e. Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Safeway, Starbucks, etc) but it feels like a teenie tiny nothing. I can’t wait to leave.

Your whole district is 550 students? Jeepers. I thought my HS was insanely small with 500 students. Wow.

JB, I can probably guess where you live. That’s sad.

Run, PM me with a guess.
