The Cafe Watering Hole

Yeah, chances threads are wholly illogical and they’ll make you extremely insecure. You don’t need to start doubting that 2350.

Haha, I retook a 2220 because of those threads. What a waste of a Saturday. Stay Away!!!

Yeah. Yeah…

After some thinking, I’m sticking with my 2110. I’ve given up hope on the SAT. I’ll retake my 32 ACT instead, since I think I can improve it. How scandalous of a CCer to settle for a 2110.

You’re an embarrassment. You must never come back to CC again.

We have to take the ACT in school here, silly Midwestern states.

Yes, I’m in one of those silly Midwestern states. But the ACT isn’t required in Ohio; it’s just much more widely used than the SAT. The ACT is a very good standardized test for states to use. It would be better if more schools did that. But then the ACT would also lose its value as a college test. So then somebody would come up with a new test, and we’d all be in the same spot again.

The College Board is so stupid. In so many ways. It just is.

I hate CollegeBoard’s tests. I could have gotten along just fine without them. But their website is really good.

Canada now has three medals, one of each. Yeah. In your face, Americans.

If anyone points out that the US has 54 medals, bad things will happen.

Yeah.

Michael Phelps has four more medals than Canada.

Edit: 2 of your medals are in women’s wrestling. Hahahahahahahahaha.

Michael Phelps speaks with a slur.

A Canadian woman could kick your ass, Mike. Watch out.

Many Canadian women could kick my ass, I’m sure, and yours as well.

Buuuuuuuut seeing as they don’t really exist I’m not worried.

This website is the devil

I was at the gym a few days ago and I saw a woman who could bench nearly twice as much as I could. Yeah. Watch out for those Canadian women.

And they do exist. They do.

I don’t really want to take the sat. Maybe I’ll just take the act and sat IIs.

Hola.

8 medals!

I’m just back for a few mins cause im bored.

Only attempt the SAT and SAT IIs if you go to a good high school. The SAT (in my opinion) is heavily biased toward those who attend good high schools with many advanced course offerings and a supportive staff. My rural school does not prepare students to take the SAT and SAT IIs. I’m considered by my Spanish teacher to be the best student he’s ever had. He even went so far as to make a certificate that says that, and he presented it to me at the awards ceremony. I’m sorry if that sounds conceited, but it’s fact. Anyway, I scored a 640 on the SAT II Spanish without listening. That’s 52nd percentile. If you don’t have a good education behind you, you won’t do well on the SAT.

The ACT, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to discriminate against students who attend sub-par high schools. Many students at my school scored 30+ on their first attempts. There was even a sophomore at my school that scored a 34.

I’m going to stick with the SAT for now, just because I’ve already started studying for it. But there’s still time to take the ACT if it doesn’t work out.

I was really surprised at the difference in the number of people that take the two tests in Ohio.

When I took the SAT Reasoning Test, there were 7 people in the test room, including me.

When I took the SAT Subject Tests, I was the only one. I had a personal classroom and proctor. It was quite intimidating.

When I took the ACT, there were at least 200 students there. It was crazy. I was really shocked when I pulled into the parking lot and it was nearly full. I even took the ACT in April, which is far from the most popular test date. I took the SAT in October, which should have been the busiest month. June should also have more students taking the SAT II. But then again, I’ve been hanging around CC for a while, and my assumptions may be far from the truth.

If I were to take the ACT here, I’d be the only one taking it, guaranteed.

The SAT is really bugging me. I consistently score 750+ on CR and writing with little effort, but I just can’t break 700 on math. Ugggh. I always do really well with math in school, and I don’t go to a bad school. It’s so annoying.

I don’t do that well on Math. I had a 680 on the SAT I Math. I’ve always carried a 95+ in Math, though I suppose that’s harder in a Canadian school. I’ve also won first place in a regional Math contest. But the weird thing is that I scored a 730 on SAT Math Level 2. Granted, that’s well below the CC average, but it says something’s up.
