<p>I haven’t read enough books. As a silly American, I’m severely lacking in attention span. I haven’t read any of your choices for locations: One Hundred Years of Solitude, 1984, or Catch-22.</p>
<p>Read One Hundred Years of Solitude in Spanish. It’s apparently much better than the English translation. </p>
<p>Don’t worry, though. Canadians and Americans all fall under the umbrella of silly North Americans. I only know a handful of people our age who’ve even heard of One Hundred Years of Solitude or Catch-22, and none who’ve actually read them. 1984 is a little bit more popular, but not by very much.</p>
<p>I have yet to read one novel in Spanish. I wanted to get Harry Potter in Spain, but when I saw it cost 22€, I decided I’d look on Amazon.</p>
<p>I talked myself out of Arabic. I was thinking I’d be able to gain a higher level of proficiency if I were to take French instead. But then I keep reading all this stuff about how Chinese is so important, and I’d also love to learn Russian. I have so many nerd issues. I’ll decide someday.</p>
<p>I’ve decided that the next language I learn will be an Asian one, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to master Chinese. For now, I think I’ll take Japanese in college.</p>
<p>Ugh, my local library has no foreign language books. The joys of a small town in Ohio. Actually, I probably wouldn’t have the attention span for those, either.</p>
