The Cafe Watering Hole

Dorothy Ann! But that’s not her. Phoebe, I think.

Surely you can think of something to talk about, Canadian.

I have lived in the same house all my life. And it’s always been surrounded on two sides by a cornfield, for all my life.

Do you have friends? I don’t just mean acquaintances. I mean the kind where you call them up on your Canada Mobile cell phone and say, “Eh! How was your maple syrup this morning? Let’s go out to the film studios to watch the silly American actors. Then we’ll go oat and aboat on the town. Sounds good, eh?” At that point, you go and do just that. Do you have those kind of friends?

Nice.

Best episode by far.

I also liked Arthur and the Magic School Bus. I watched Arthur until I was 13 years old. No joke. But anyway, I also liked Inspector Gadget. Not the silly movies, but the cartoon. Besides that, I watched Seinfeld and Norm (I thought I’d throw a Canadian in there).

“Inside Ralphie?” Seriously? My favorite is the one where they go in that old haunted mansion with all the sounds.

Arthur taught me how to spell aardvark. And Inspector Gadget.

Oh childhood.

I was fascinated at how Miss Frizzle had pop cans on her shoes in the garbage/recycling one.

I can’t decide which one I liked most. They were all pretty swell.

And yes, JB, I do have friends. Friends I can go to the “movie studios” with.

GO HOME SPARTANs

Gossip girl is back

What Is The Point Of This Thread???

I convinced my parents to go on a college visit! Yay! I’m going to Case Western on October 11. I’m going with a friend from school. That’s probably the only reason it’s going to happen, because this way, my parents only have to drive the six-hour round trip one time, rather than twice.

Has anyone read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley? It’s pretty swell. My copy had like, 5 introductions (no joke) and they took up around 60 pages, but I have trouble starting a book without reading the stupid introductions. I got through all that and I thought the book would be boring because the introductions got progressively worse. But really, it’s pretty awesome.

I love that book. Stop saying swell.

I read Brave New World last year. It was seriously disturbing at first, but by the end, I’d grown accustomed to it. I don’t think my copy had any introductions. I usually never read them anyway. I have no problems skipping entire sections of books if they’re boring. I need to read a lot more. I’m going to make this year my year to check out a bunch of books. I know I should be able to read a novel in three days or less, so I should just go ahead and do it. No more of this, “Well, I feel like getting on CC instead of reading” business. No.

I have a problem when it comes to books. I can’t just decide not to read the rest of a book if I’m halfway through. I also can’t skip introductions, paragraphs, or anything like that.

I was an 8th grader the first time I read Lord of the Flies and I almost died of boredom, so I decided to stop reading it and start something else instead. But then, I read a few pages of the next book and went back to Lord of the Flies because I have a compulsive need to finish the books I start.

I wish I had that problem. I have a compulsive need to return a book to the library after I get to page 56.

I like Weeds.

You make this so difficult.

What ?
