It was quite the adventure, wasn’t it?

Sigh, I’m wrapped up in them again. It’s like a drug…

I wish I spoke German.

I love my 366 Stupidest Things Ever Said calendar. It’s so hilarious.

Usually, about once a week, I’ll include languages in my prayer before bed. It’s usually something along the lines of, “Dear God, can you PLEASE make me learn ten languages to fluency before I wake up tomorrow? That would really be great.” Then I list the languages, which change sometimes, but it’s usually about ten of them. German is always included.

I read somewhere that German almost became the language of the US government, but it lost by one vote. There were a lot of German immigrants in Pennsylvania where they held the Constitutional Convention. I’ll see if I can verify that. That would have been waaaay better to have as a language. The US should have gotten complete independence from those brazen Brits. Keeping their icky language was stupid.

I wish I spoke Spanish. And Italian. And Russian. And French.

Teach me something useful in French, Canadian.

For example.

Ooh Ooh, yak teach us how to say “Of course I speak French.”

Phonetically, of course.

YES.

I finished my lab report. And my calculus homework. Le sigh.

French is hard to write out phonetically. But maybe you can write it down if someone asks you. “Mais bien sûr que je parle français.”

Try.

Oh Scranton.

I’ve heard “je parle francais” before, it’s the “mais bien sur que” bit that needs to be sounded out. I’ll add the French accent.

Here we go. I don’t speak French, so take this with a grain of salt.

May byawn soor kuh zhuh parl frawn-say.

See, that wasn’t so bad, Rocker.

Figures.

The more I think about Sarah Palin the angrier I get.

All right, here’s my attempt.

Maiy bee-uh(french sounding n thingy) sue-r(soft r) kay sh/j(sort of inbetween)e parlay fraun-say.

I bet this is entertaining the Canadian.

Tell me a Canadian adventure.

[German the Official US Language?](What if German was the Official US Language?)

Apparently, it was only a vote to translate laws into German. The other story is propaganda from the American Nazi party. Wonderful.

I like my interpretation better.

I’m eating a siopao, I’m so Asian.

Kuh and parl. JB did it pretty well. The problem with me is that I start to be a perfectionist about pronunciations and “byawn” doesn’t sound right to me. Mike’s “bee-uh(french sounding n thingy)” actually looks better, if you know what a french n sounds like.

Canadian adventure.

I don’t see any difference between Canadian and American.
