Or needy old people. 100 is better than nothing. I hope.

I’ve decided US history is useless. Yup.

Neon-out at the football game tonight. Should be fun.

Like, who really cares about Pequot-settler relations? I don’t.

Our football team went 0-10 last year and they’ve already won the first two this season. Either way, super awesome.

Kewlz. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this obnoxious, hi-lighter orange shirt after tonight. If there’s will be a neon party at my college, I’ll be prepared.

You’ll wear it when you say things like “Kewlz” and “Awesssome”. You know.

That’s all I ever say, liek DSuhXzorrz.

Peace out home skillet.

If you say so, biscuit head.

I need new shoulders.

That’s… not weird.

Really, Canadian. I failed. Terrible.

Deadbeat Canadians and their lack of compassion, puh.

Really, now, this is pitiful.

i can’t wait to hear about you guys’s college letters.

I’m going to write my UChicago essay TODAY. TODAY. I just have to think of a street. Between my three hours at work and my two hour grocery shopping trip this afternoon, I’ll see what I can conjure.

My uncle is visiting from South Carolina, and he’s loaded. He’s a biochemist, and he does research for drug companies. Anyway, last night, he asked me about my colleges, and I said my parents vetoed most of my choices. My parents were sitting right there. So then he asked me to which colleges would I like to apply, and I rattled off my CC-esque list. Then my mom started in about her “JBVirtuoso has to realize that we have to move him eight times, and he can’t go that far.” My uncle just looked at my mom like she was crazy. I think my mom wanted him to confirm what she said, but he obviously wouldn’t. He travels all over the world for his job; he even studied in the Soviet Union. So he doesn’t think Amherst is too far. I loved it. The conversation was quickly abandoned.

I’m going to write my UChicago essay today. TODAY. Ask me if I’m finished yet at the end of the day.

I don’t really understand the whole volunteering hours spiel. CCers always say that volunteering is usually better than having a job. But here’s this: I’ve worked about 1,500 hours between my jobs. Is that really not as admirable as 500 volunteer hours?

I tried getting my ti-89 to solve a cubic equation but it said “error: memory.” Anyone know how to fix this? I’ve done a bunch of internet searching and nothing’s really working.

Did you try to graph it first? Then you can use the grapher to calculate values. That’s my only guess.

How was SAT prep today?

I’m going to write my UChicago essay. Right now.

I’m so lame. I started my essay, and it’s going nowhere. I don’t know what to do. I need to get the essay done because the application is due November 1st. There must be some way for me to have an epiphany of self-understanding.

It went relatively well. I think I’m starting to plateau. I can get around 730+ on every section, which I’m more or less satisfied with. If I manage to bring that up to 750+ on every section in time for October 4th, I’ll be really happy. But, either way, I’m pretty satisfied. I’ve come a long way from when I started.

I think that’s excellent for someone who doesn’t speak English as a first language. I’m not bashing your English abilities, but the English on the SAT hard to master, even for those of us who have used it every day for seventeen years.

I should really be doing ACT prep, as I’m taking it in October. And it’s always helpful to do better the second time, so it’s worth my $46.

I haven’t returned to my essay yet. I guess all I really did was decide on one topic that doesn’t work. I suffer from clich

I’ve spoken English every day for about 12 years. English is the language I’m most fluent in.

Ah. I thought you moved from Croatia later than that. I suppose it just depends on the person. I have a Chinese friend that’s only spoken English since she was nine, and she’s way better at proper English than I am. But she studies it ALL the time. I don’t really spend time debating about the differences between participial phrases and gerund phrases.

My to-do list for the weekend is about three miles long.
