The Cafe Watering Hole

Jesus.

I won’t be able to go to Chicago unless I get a full scholarship, which won’t happen. I was very sad when I realized this.

JB, all of the good freshmen housing in the six pack (Gregory and Peabody halls) fills up really fast at U of I, and most freshmen end up in PAR or FAR, so everyone I know at U of I told me to turn in housing ASAP. One of my friends waited until April and ended up in the substance free living learning community, and I definitely don’t want that.

Snoop, don’t worry about that stuff yet.

I want an old english sheep dog.

English, you say? English? From England, a proper noun? Hmm?

I have to worry about it, Mike.

Not until your actual aid package comes.

I’m going to the Naval Research Lab in DC and Montreal this summer. Yay!

That’s assuming I get in.

I think photobucket hates me.

Of course it does.

archive.org is zomgammazzing.

Canadian, what should I do in Canadia???

Marvel at the nothingness.

Montreal is a really cool city. It’s really “alive.” You’ll find a lot to do there. Especially at night, lolz.

Naval research isn’t interesting, Mike.

I’m not there for educational purposes, my uncle works there, all I do is walk around the submarines and the test sites. It’s pretty neat, actually.

Lollerskatez.

What should I watch?

Stargate :)

Mormon propaganda on youtube, it’s “lollerskatez”.

Montreal. Hah. I want to leave the US so badly. But I can’t. I seriously considered going to the University of Toronto just to be able to get out of the US. The weather would be bad, but it couldn’t be too much worse than northern Ohio. I’m just across the lake from Toronto. But I can’t do that either. Sigh.

Maybe I should start checking out the OSU forums. That’s the only school where I think it would be a problem. The honors housing at OSU has quad dorms. I’m not sure if I’d like that or not. I’m going to guess not. But I don’t know.

I feel like there are fifty different voices in my head telling me to do this and do that. But none of the voices are loud enough.

Profound, man.

I know. I might have to use that in my upcoming creative writing class.

Express your emotions in a narrative.

U of T isn’t that bad. It’s a pretty good university, and it’s basically impossible to not get in, and it’s amazingly cheap. On one year’s tuition at Chicago, you could go to U of T for four years and live in relative comfort. I only hate it because it’s here and I want to leave Toronto. Which is why my top Canadian choice is McGill.

Also, the weather here and in Montreal is just as bad as it is in Ohio. Here, it’s 10C now, which isn’t cold at all. So.

I think I’ll watch Wall*E. Or Citizen Kane. Decisions, decisions.

Wall-E is dope.

My top Canadian choice is Athabasca University. Thank you google.

Oh. It’s 0°C here. So it just depends. There was someone on CC that was telling about his shock in moving from California to Montreal for college. He said it was between -10°F and -5°F at the moment. I don’t think so. In my darkest hours of nerdiness, I check world weather, and Montreal is never that cold. That’s about -25°C to -20°C. It doesn’t appear as though that happens very much in Montreal.

The other problem with U of T is that I’m guessing they’re stingy with aid for internationals. Just a guess. So it would be more difficult for me to go there than to Chicago. I would consider it if I didn’t qualify for need-based aid in the US. But I do qualify, so heh.

And then there’s the embarrassment of telling everyone I’m going to Canada for college.
