<p>A lot of soldiers here go to Seoul for TDY. TDY means tour of duty. It’s usually for a year. Some of them marry over there or bring them back, and some Asians immigrate here.</p>

<p>He retired when I was in the 9th grade and got a job at a factory. The last time was…right before that. All together…3 or so years. That’s only when I’ve been alive, though.</p>

<p>My dad was a non-commissioned officer, I think. I have no idea what it means. Career officers have to go to college, I know that. But still, he was in it for over 20 years and has been to a crapload of places. </p>
