The Cal Bar

not for bs. there are actually specifics somewhere online, but i can’t be effed to look them up atm. there’s something about not having a c average and no dropped classes/discrepancies in the classes you previously committed to.

Do most students go home for Spring Break?

I have a feeling they would seeing as it seems like the only break between now and the end of the school year but I’m wondering if midterms will get in the way of enjoying Spring Break and we’d be studying anyway during that time. Thanks for any answers!

Edit: Oh, and the dorms aren’t evacuated like for winter break, right?

Dorms are evacuated during Winter Break (at least Unit 2 was, but I’m pretty sure all are).

Hey, does anybody know if there are upper division GE requirements for L&S?

Not really. As far as courses go, you need to fulfill AC and the seven Breadth courses. There’s a Upper Div units requirement: 36 upper div units, and 6 of those units must come from outside your major department.

How come Berkeley gets a Bar and we don’t?

:'(

That’s because our(UCLA) bar was filled with mindblowing ■■■■■■■■ topics…

And you enjoyed every post! Don’t deny it…

What do you think about double majoring in Economics and Environmental Economics and Policy? What are some other popular majors to pair with those two?

^^I know Poli Sci/Econ is pretty common

What is the average GPA for and engineer?

What do you consider to be a “fluff” major? I’ve heard students refer to them often, but really, which ones are “fluff” majors?

I’ve often heard Mass Comm referred to as a “fluff” major. Other fluff majors depend on how much of a hard science/math elitist you are. Perhaps Sociology, Psychology, [fill-in-the-blank] Studies, among other things.

Is it of any benefit to apply earlier to housing? Is it first come first serve or does it not matter as long as you get the housing application in by May 3rd?

The housing works through a lottery system, so it doesn’t matter when you apply as long as you meet the deadline.

what are some popular fraternities? are there business fraternaties?

There are some pre-business fraternaties.

does anyone know any specific ones? what are the overall impressions of fraternities at berkeley? are they just like any other ones at other top university? (not to sound like they’re boring or anything haha)

Hey, does anyone know what’s the lowest GPA you can get before you’re rescinded from Berkeley?

^3.0UW ~10charrrrrr
