The Cal Bar

Transfers and Freshmen get free home game tickets. Tickets are online:

Sweet thanks, that’s awesome to hear. So all the home games are free for freshmen, even the huge one with USC? I got a friend going there, and we can’t wait to see the game.

I can’t remember if USC is included or not. They also give specials to the away games. I think Big Game is the only one that is never included in the package.

Visit the site, register using your ID and reserve them. The student section tickets sell out around August and you can’t receive them then. Its nice, even if you don’t plan on going to all the games. Just show up and swipe your Cal ID.

i think the so cal games u might have to pay a bit more, last year for the UCLA game and stanfurd u had to pay like $29

2006 had 2 games not included… UCLA and Stanfurd. 2007 it’s USC not included…

Oh, that’s okay. It’ll be well worth the money to get to make fun of my bud. I have a small problem though, whenver I try to register with my Calnet ID it says “The entered account number and PIN did not verify. Please enter again.” Anyone know what I should do? Thanks.

So this summer I am going to stay home instead of going to the Freshman Summer Session. I was wondering if there are any suggestions on classes I could take at my local community college. I’m a Public Health/BioE major. Should I try to take classes that are requirements for my major or should I take breadth requirement classes?

Thanks in advance for any help. I know I asked a lot of questions anything would be helpful.

anyone know when the co ops notify us if we get housing? i actually really don’t want to live in a co op my first year, but we have financial problems :(

varies- depends on when you apply and when things open up. call and or email them- they are fairly nice and helpful!

there are other alternatives, but can’t you find a co-op you like? they do very a lot by house. try to find the house that best fits you. ask everyone that would know (such as the people in the co-op offices) about what houses are like so you can get an idea of their personalities.

just2chewy we get an email sometime in august telling us to sign-up for frosh tickets online i don’t think we can do anything before then

august 1st you can get football tickets, do it, even if you don’t like football. it’s free, and it’ll b fun, good team this year.

Since this is a bar, I’m going to go ahead and complain. I think it sucks that Berkeley doesn’t have a single-sign on webportal such as MyUCLA or MyUCDavis. Trust me, if you’ve never experienced having a webportal for college, its extremely convenient. You login to one site, and from there you can check e-mail, check gradebooks, look at syllabi, upload files onto the server, download campus software, read campus news, see the weather for the day, etc.

Having to manually type in calmail.berkeley.edu then log in, then open a new tab type in webfiles.berkeley.edu then log in, and then opening up another tab and typing in bspace.berkeley.edu then log in is a pain.

I looked up articles at the Daily Cal and it had an article about the admins exploring the implementation of a web portal…from 2002! Yeesh, get with the technology! [/end rant]

I’m glad you brought that up. Maybe someone can do a new thread that links us to whatever Berkeley websites we’ll need for the year. Like telebears for signing up for classes, etc. It will really help the freshmen! Every time I need to look up something, I have to go back to my email from December, just to find info I need on “to do” list, events to sign up for, etc. Too many different random websites to remember.

Ever heard of CalSO “Coalition Programs”??? I need to know quick?

What is it? What benefit does it bring to students? What’s the difference between normal CalSO and Coalition CalSO?

I really need to know this because I will probably have to reschedule my CalSO session. The other choice that I have is not a Coalition session, so I am trying to find out what I would be missing.

When can incoming freshmen (fall 2007) get their Cal 1 Cards?
I’m not going to CalSO… is there another time I can get one?

during welcome week, go to the cal id card office on lower sproul and get it

Can incoming freshmen get one now or do they have to wait until the fall?

If you don’t go to CalSO I suppose you get it in the fall.

If I initially chose a single sex floor for my housing arrangement, is there any way that I can change to a co-ed floor? I am Unit 2 Double if that helps.

does UC Berkley care a lot about ECs?
