Hello,
I’m applying to several CSUs at the moment and was wondering if anybody could answer a question I had about the California Promise Program.
On the CSU website, it states that students in the program must commit to completing 30 units every academic year /including/ summer sessions. Does this mean taking summer courses would be required, or that an (optional) summer session would require taking a certain number of units? I’m certain I’m overthinking this, and it does sound like a great program, but if taking summer and/or winter courses is required then I’m not really sure I could commit due to work and other life priorities.
Thanks for any help!
I would take it to mean that you can take summer courses to meet the 30 unit requirement so optional.
Fifteen units per semester is doable, depending on what you take and how your units are set up at your school.
In other words, don’t front load all sciences in one semester.
If you decide to to some in the summer, then do it for your piece of mind.
Thank you for clarifying! I completely misunderstood what it meant initially. I’ll look into signing up
Thanks again
Does it help or hurt admissions at Cal Poly if you say yes or no
to California Promise?
No effect on your admission decision if you accept or do not accept the California promise program.
@gumbymom Ok thanks so much!
