The Campus

Is the campus completely enclosed like say…Fordham’s Rose Hill campus, or is it open and integrated into the city like NYU? Is there security at any gates or something to that effect?

Its open and integrated and there r security guards at the gates who are pretty useless.

a word to the wise…when you chose ur username stay away from names like this because if you post on another college’s board you will most probably annoy the current students and alums. Its like writing about yale in your columbia essay. People will feel like answering your question is a waste of time since you only seem to be interested in Yale.

It’s probably closer to Fordham than NYU in this respect (I’ve never been to Fordham). The campus is enclosed, and there are security guards at a few of the gates (as far as I can remember, I’ve only ever seen security guards at the Broadway and Amsterdam gates, the main ones), but like Shraf said, they’re pretty much useless. The one time they checked IDs was when Ahmadinejad came.

It’s possible not to leave campus for days, but the campus isn’t an isolated bubble either. When the weather’s nice, you can see a lot of families playing on the lawns (and, of course, tourists).

oh, guess i should’v said open (no ID checks to step inside the gates) but not integrated like NYU where its just a bunch of buildings scattered around
