does anyone know how to cancel an audition? I emailed BW telling them I wanted to cancel my scheduled audition about a week ago, but I haven’t heard back. I also need to cancel Hartt and Viterbo
@penny1234 when my s acceptance to BW came it was an email stating both academic and artistic acceptance. They tell you at the same time after the audition. Then a week later the packet came with scholarship information.
@BWmama - When you say your daughter received a pass from Rider do you mean prescreen or acceptance?
Does anyone know the chances to getting off waitlist to audition for Marymount Manhattan? My daughter passed Prescreen but was waitlisted caused audition dates were already filled. Wondering if ever has happened to anyone and liklihood of possibility. She submitted hers Dec 1st which was the deadline but I guess so many had already submitted theirs so she wasn’t able to get on schedule:
@kwheel_2019 - I would say to call them. I know it’s a hassle but it seems to be easier to reach some of these schools over the phone. How did the IU audition go?
@3Blessings Yes, last year my D was waitlisted for an audition at Marymount Manhattan and later they did fit her in for on campus audition. (May have helped that we called to follow up a few times to see if any space opened up.). Good luck!
@3Blessings We spoke to Marymount Manhattan right before the prescreen deadline, and they told us they do maintain a waitlist for all the audition dates. At that point, some of the dates had a lot of people on them, but others didn’t have very many. Since their regional audition site in San Francisco still had spots available, she signed up for that one (we are West Coast). I don’t know if the regional site is still available- or if all the waitlists are full now, but I would call them to find out about the waitlists; hopefully you can get on a short one! Good luck!
Question for the veteran parents regarding Unifieds. Have you ever seen someone bring a folding chair? Due to some medical issues, there is no way I’ll be able to set up on the floor in the halls or lobby - I’ve got to be able to sit.
Typically there are 12-18 spots in MT BFA programs. How many spots are left in a program when MT college acceptance letters are sent in waves? Did the colleges accept paid applications and auditions if a deadline date was still open but the spots were filled in the MT/Acting class. I see some people are receiving acceptances and curious if there will be spots in the MT BFA programs at Unified auditions.
@FROG65 Yes, there will be spots in the BFA program classes still open at Unifieds. Schools would not bother to hold auditions if there were no spots in the class. Typically, very few are accepted early and at many BFA programs, nobody is offered acceptance until all auditions have ended for the season. Further, even if a program has 12-18 slots in the class, they accept more than that number in order to yield that number. Even those programs that do put out offers on a rolling basis or in an early round, do not know if those accepted will attend, as applicants have until May 1 to commit to attend unless it is an ED application (very few BFA programs even offer ED).
@afterp89 you could bring a folding chair but there are chairs (although more people) If you don’t need to be following your kid around you can find a comfy chair and sit with all the stuff like a home base. There are chairs in the halls but there are sitting areas more out of the way.
@frisbee3 Good morning. She passed her Rider prescreen.
@3Blessings Good morning. My D passed prescreens with Marymount and is also on the waitlist. I am crossing my fingers and my toes that we get a date and that it doesn’t conflict with all of the other dates that are scheduled. Scheduling is my biggest struggle at the moment.
Has anyone who auditioned for Penn State heard back yet? We were there in early December and expected to hear no or deferral mid-December-ish and we haven’t heard back. . . wondering if others have yet? I know it is just now mid-December, but now that auditions are all scheduled and starting to happen, antsy to start hearing some word about something!
@BWmama yes, we feel the struggle of the schedule and potential conflicts. It’s a good problem to have so many though, so we can’t be too upset but hope we don’t have to pass up an opportunity because of it. It’s such a juggle to make it all work. So far we have 11 on the calendar and waiting on 3 more. Our goal is to do to them on campus if possible, to get a feel for the faculty and campus but requires a lot of planning (and $$ but thankfully we can drive to most of them cause of the region of country and where we live). Best of luck to you and your D!
@MTdreamin My D will also be at the Marymount Manhattan SF audition. She’s going on the 4th. Is your D on the 4th or the 3rd? This will be my daughter’s first audition of this whole process so she’s excited/nervous, but happy to finally be moving along. Best of luck to your daughter.
@CaliMTdreams My D will be at the SF Marymount audition on the 3rd. Good luck to your D as well!!
D accepted to Nazareth BFA Musical Theatre - so excited! So glad to be joining the group of you who have auditioned acceptances. I am relieved that we at least have 1.
@MToverload - congratulations! Great News!
Hi if you go Penn States portal that your son or daughter created there should be a letter in there. Hope this helps.
