My D just got her academic acceptance today too to MMC. Now to audition! Congrats to all the kids getting in academically!
My D also received her academic acceptance to Marymount today. Congratulations to everyone.
I know pages and pages ago someone posted a question about hearing back from USC prescreens. Wondering if anyone has heard anything yet. Their site says they will notify “in December”, but I figure most schools are now heading on “break” starting today at 5:00 pm. Just curious if my DS should have called to ask. (He is so hesitant to call anyone to ask anything!) Thanks!
@luvbloominroses my daughter has not heard from USC either…has anyone? They are only auditioning one weekend in Feb so it must be a small number of invites.
congrats on all of the acceptances!!! so exciting
has anyone who applied to BOCO early action, heard anything back?
my S is dying to hear
Academic acceptance to MMC overseer too!! Congrats all!
@collegeboundSam, my DS has 2 other offers on the table right now and quite a few auditions on schedule thru 3/2 but I think NAZ might be the one for him. He feels comfortable there and I think it could be the one but he also really likes Florida Southern, so we shall see…
@ivyirene My d applied early action and received notification yesterday.
@luvbloominroses We are still waiting on USC as well. I thought for sure we’d hear back before the Christmas break.
And I wish we knew dates for the “early February” callbacks. It makes me nervous, since we already have auditions scheduled the first 2 weekends of February…
@college1445 My D submitted Indiana on Oct. 28 and heard back (a yes!) in less than 2 weeks. You might want to check in with them. It seems like they have been notifying everyone within 2 weeks.
For anyone familiar with Pace’s audition schedule: My D has an audition Monday after Unifieds, 1/21, at 9:00 a.m. Of course, they will send “more info” as we get closer, but I am trying to figure out what time we can head to the airport. If 9:00 a.m. is for monologue and voice, is the dance call right after that or in the afternoon? I would love to take a 5:00 or earlier flight, but…
@BWmama My D just auditioned at Pace last weekend. They had 2 sessions 9am and 2pm (I think the 2nd session started at 2pm, but I could be a little off on that time). My D was in the 9am session and she was done by 1pm.
@BrennaK Thank you so much. That is very helpful. Any other information that you or your D think would be beneficial? Someone had mentioned somewhere (can’t recall) that the dance call was extremely difficult. And I have no idea if they use the same choreo in all of the auditions so it could vary, I guess.
@BWmama My D said the dance call was very strenuous but really fun music and choreo. She’s kind of a mid-level dancer as far as training goes.
The students either do Singing/Monologue first or Dance first. They find out their order at the time of sign-in. Most students came dressed in their audition outfits. There are bathrooms nearby to change if they are dancing first. Midway through the morning, the groups switch. On our audition day, it was easier for the kids to take their bags with them, since the parents were not necessarily able to stay in one place throughout the morning due to other events happening.
My D loved the whole vibe of the audition, the faculty, and the current students.
@BrennaK thanks for the info! @BWmama my D will be in the same audition on 1/21 at Pace and they definitely told us she’d be done by 1pm - we’re catching the bus home later that afternoon.
@BrennaK Excellent. Thanks so much.
@afterp89 - I guess we’ll see you there and maybe the girls can chat this time.
Curious: Is there anyone who auditioned at Elon in November that has NOT heard back yet?
@BWmama 5 should be fine but I would call them to reconfirm. Several years ago I believe we were done about 3. So you might make it a little later.
Can someone who has done the Baldwin Wallace audition day on campus tell me what the kids’ schedule looks like? It sounds as though they are on their own for the day until the end? I know dance call around 4, Q&A at 5. Do they have other sessions besides the voice/monologue audition? Are they free for lunch? Are they sitting around most of the day waiting or are there other things that they do? Thanks
@ivyirene I have heard of one person getting into BOCO from an early audition. @luvbloominroses We are waiting on USC too.
