Hello! This is my first post. I have been following this thread and there is a lot of good information here. This process has been incredibly stressful and I need some advice. My D received an email from BoCo on Wednesday with an invitation to audition. She signed up for a campus audition on February 17th and didn’t receive a confirmation. She logged back on yesterday and all the campus auditions are not visible so I assume that means that they are full and that she won’t be able to audition. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can she email to be ask to be put on a waitlist or will she have to forfeit the audition? She is beside herself right now with sadness because she didn’t email or communicate with them on Wednesday. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. @MTSongbirdMom - hugs to you and your daughter.
@artsmomof4 Absolutely, she (or you) should email. My experience is that all of the programs are very quick to respond to email. I also find that most programs do their absolute best to solve problems. Good luck!
Hi guys! Has anyone heard from the Indiana prescreen?
@artsmomof4 When your daughter logs on under “manage your audition…,” there should be her date and time listed under “My Upcoming Events.” If it’s not listed there, I think I might call instead of email, just so you know that all is well and you can all relax.
@college1445 - submitted Indiana prescreen around 12/6, received a “no” on 12/11. Hope you’re still in the running!
@artsmomof4 Definitely call them, they’ll be closing or closed for the holidays soon. The audition coordinator is Sarah Shechtman, sshechtman@berklee.edu
I’m sure they will work hard to accommodate her, seemed very friendly when I had to email her about a different issue a few weeks ago.
So weird I submitted mine in November. Did you hear via email or on getaccepted?
@college1445 - my D got a message through get acceptd . maybe no news is good news?
@CanaDad @BWmama and @ZukAndSowash THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I called and they just opened up Feb 18th and she got an audition scheduled!!
Did anyone else audition at Marymount Manhattan on Nov. 17? If so, any word yet?
@FlaMTmom
We were there too! No word yet. I forgot when they told us they’d send decisions.
@FlaMTmom My D is doing a regional with Marymount Manhattan in SF on Jan 4. Can you give any info on their process? Besides dance, voice and monologue, is there an interview? What was her overall feel for the school and program. Assume your child did an on-campus audition? Thanks for any info!!
@NYart15 I really thought they said we would hear at the same time as the regular admission decision. But that came a few days ago, with no word from the theatre department. Was hoping for news (one way or the other) before the holidays. The waiting is the worst!
@FlaMTmom thanks!
How did you receive regular admission decision?
@CaliMTdreams The on-campus audition at Marymount lasted all day. Dance call in the morning. Lunch break and information session, and then afternoon vocal/monologue auditions. There was not an interview, although the vocal/monologue auditions were run in small groups in a master-class setting, so there was definitely interaction. My S really enjoyed the day, and we were both impressed with the faculty and the program as presented at the info session. Best of luck to your D!
@NYart15 The decision came by mail early this week. My S applied for early action.
Thanks @FlaMTmom
My D did regular but submitted application in September. Fingers crossed.
My son auditioned at Marymount on Nov. 17th. He loved it! Rumor is the kids will get an email notifying them of a portal update today. That’s the theater notification. Fingers and toes crossed.
@NYart15 same here… academic acceptance
(the waiting is just agony)
