haha the tenth of december? i’m not complaining

ok someone pls respond to this - do you think the adcom would have already made a tentative decision for all applicants by dec 1st?

so what happens if crap sat 2 scores arrive around this date… do u get the boot or what?

I’m pretty sure they must make the decisions looong before the decisions are actually sent out… because they’d have to notify the finaid office to start work on your package… prolly early decemberish.

methinks.

will we get financial aid awards along with our acceptance letters, or will they wait to award us aid with the RD applicants?

i think it comes along with your acceptance, but it won’t be loaded up on Status Tracker until April.

Yeah, financial aid awards come with your accpetance letters for ED. However, this is assuming all the financial aid business is properly taken care of. Also, it can change depending on the tax forms sent in februrary(you have to send in tax forms again if you’re accepted, just to make sure you didn’t short change i.e. lie to the fin aid office).

Decisions for ED are started to be made on December 1st…and all decisions are done in a period of a week. I’m positive

When are the decisions emailed? 10 or 12?

im positive it is the 10th

I believe you, but how can you be so certain that it’s the 10th?

Email notification is supposed to arrive on the 15th, so why does this even matter?

no they mail out the acceptance letters on the 15th

Exactly. They’ve got our email addresses, so why would they not send us an email notification in addition to whatever else they are sending on that date?

I guess the letter that they send through the mail is more personal and gives us more info about our actual acceptance than the email. They send an email and a letter through the mail to all the people they accept. Most of the accepted students get the email first.

What will the title of the email be?

The email notification comes earlier for some reason, but it is only the acceptance letter, while the packet contains, well, all the paperwork.

Smithk how are you so sure that the email is sent on the 10th?

yea how do all these random ppl know this for a fact?! i’d love to believe it

they sent it on or around the 10th last year, so I dont really see any reason to change dates when all other deadlines have remained constant…but I sort of remeber reading this on Columbia’s site or on this board.

On a related note, is CU’s acceptance letter fat or thin?

The subject of the email is “Columbia University”

The acceptance letter comes in a FedEx package, very big.
