The Common Application Short Answer

I began volunteering at Degraff Adult Day Care in the summer of 2009 to assist those who no longer had the means to help themselves. Degraff Adult Day Care provides venerable people with breakfast, lunch, and activities that can engage as well as keep them excited about life. This day and age it seems as though our elders are the ones who have been left to fend for themselves. I have a grandmother who is eighty three years old and when I would volunteer I would see her face in all the clients whom i work with. I felt as though I owed it to the people in community to give back and I ended up volunteering for over thirty hours. Working here instilled me patience, organizational skills, and a profound admiration for the people who have shaped this country. Overall, this experience has changed the way I view the elderly.
